I don't remember seeing porter take any post fades yet which is a big part of Durant's post game. Durant was also a very polished (maybe polished isn't the right word but very good) ball handler coming into the NBA. Much better than MPJ. I have yet to see him create any real separation off the dribble in a half court set. He's good in transition but to be elite you need to have those half court dribble moves to create for yourself. I'll go check the stats but I'm fairly certain nearly all of MPJs shots have been assisted. He's had a lot of "easy" looks through 3 games which is great to build confidence but still haven't seen the elite shot creation that all the MVP level guys have. He has a great form and follow through and has the length to shoot over almost anyone so I have no doubts that he could be a 20+ppg scorer one day. Defensively still average at best. I know he had 2 blocks last game and the weakside block was nice but the other one where he got beat and blocked on the recover wasn't great. Craftier guards are going to be able to shield themselves on that and get the shot off. He's still getting beat by quicker guys and isn't going to be able to stock big bodied 4s/5s. He's probably best suited at the 3. He doesn't really give you much in terms of court vision, at least he hasn't shown it yet. He's usually looking to get off a shot when he gets the ball. Isn't necessarily a bad thing but also limits his upside imo.

My problem with BO and the hobby hypers is when they hide out just to pop up every once in a while to single out 1 thing I said and tell me I'm full of crap and have no idea what I'm talking about. Then when I press to actually get some sort of reason or analysis why I don't know what I'm talking about they slink back into the shadows until "X player" has another good game to come out and scream "I told you so!"
If you're gonna tell me I don't know what I'm talking about at least have something of substance to back it up (not directed at gsw guy or wharf)

Some good quotes here from Coach Malone and Paul Millsap on MPJ's defensive improvement and potential. It's preseason, I know. But the fact that he has improved in the areas that he has in such a short amount of time after not playing a game in a year and a half seems like a good sign. |

Don't think he's gonna win ROY when he gets 0 minutes.

This is what I alluded to several pages back. I'm not knocking him or his potential talent, it's just that the team is already frontloaded with frontcourt players that have experience and can play both ways. Barton, Craig, Milsap, Grant. And Denver is in win now championship mode. They'll probably give him small minutes as a reserve to work him into the pace of the NBA slowly, but I'm unsure if he'll ever be in that starter role this year unless they lose several guys to injury.

No damnit! BO told me he was going to be KD so I spent all my money on his cards!!!!!
I’ll go vote for him in the ROY poll, that’ll help for sure!

I'm a fan and kind of expected this maybe a good thing for him to really get acclimated to the NBA and be ready when he is 100% healthy. Maybe he even gets traded wouldn't be a bad thing either ![]() True words lol |

Did you not see MPJ's warmup dunk? If he gets on the court I'm sure we can at least see a rebound from the guy. Dude had 16/10 in a blowout loss to FSU in the tourney. With time, I think he's a 35/15 type of player. These haters are short sighted. With the advancement in modern medicine and the way the game is changing, I'm sure the docs will replace MPJs Spine and Knees. This will force Silver to raise the rim to 12' feet because of the bounce he'll get. Forget winning ROY, MPJ is going have superhuman abilities just like Henry Rowengartner in Rookie of the Year. |
