Another way to examine this is:

1. Go to the PWCC archive and look at all completed LeBron sales descending by price
2. Ignore all rookie cards
3. Ignore all 1 of 1's
4. At the top of the remaining list are (a) galactics and (b) prizm golds.

https://www.pwccmarketplace.com/mark...ms_per_page=50 (this is just a search for "LeBron panini")

If you look at old Beckett's, the highest valued Jordan's in 1999 are by and large the most sought after and highly valued ones today. It's both inertia and eye appeal.
wont replicate the red and green PMG success but galactic and futura reminds me of 97-98 PMG in terms of appeal. both parallel sets also limited to less than 50 combined.

I think Mosaic is the set the looks like the most modern product for 2020.

Remains to be seen what collectors will ultimately gravitate towards 10 years from now though
Revolution isn't the kind of product I'd expect everyone to like. I love it, but I love the fun and wild designs. On the flip side, I think Prizm is one of the lamest products out there... pretty sure I have zero Prizm cards in my PC, and I'm grateful for that because the stuff gets more and more expensive.

Right now there's enough room for all kinds collectors. Who knows what the future holds, but I'd prefer if Revolution plateaued for a while so that I could fill out the voids in my collection without having to sell one of my kids.

I agree. I've got a few galactic cards, but I personally prefer the cosmic design.

You want the prices of the cards you collect to plateau in price? So you can do what, like keep collecting them? What's the point of that?

Revolution will be on the rise in upcoming years when people burn out on the Prizm craze. It’s almost inevitable to be honest.

As some people noted before me, Cosmics give you some amazing bang for your buck! They look amazing in hand, serial numbered to 100, and have continuity across all years.

I like how people can have different opinions on this set. It's a big part of what drives a successful release IMO.

I find the 19/20 release a bit tacky. But someone has said it's their favorite.

I have been grabbing Base, Cosmic and Galactics from 18/19 and picking up a few 15/16 Base and Cosmics where possible.

Picked up a Jokic Cubic for $1 and I am not a fan of the Cubic subset.

I also am confused by why people are saying these are expensive. You can get All Star level players for $50, sometimes less. That's nuts.

18/19 gets my vote because I feel it's the best design, with excellent insert set designs and it has an incredible Rookie class lead by Luka and Trae.

That's a recipe for success.

Grab your guys now, while the prices are reasonable.

To those who have Futura, what's the hype about this being better than Galactic? Any truth to this?

Trying to buy a raw copy and I don't want to return simply because it did not meet my expectation.

Here is a comparison. I'm partial to Galactics (obv) because rarity is king and I feel like they pop more. Not a huge deal, but the blue theme of the Futura is also repeated across the Sunburst and Cosmic and as a result it loses some cachet. That being said, I'd still take this Futura over just about any other card that Panini makes.

Thanks for the comparison there, beautiful cards, both of them really.

Galactics are /15 and Futura are /25?

Galactic print run is estimated, but I believe that is correct.

I'm in the overrated camp as well. I can't tell the difference between a Galactic and the other parallels from just looking at a random image so I know standard collectors can't either. Besides that, some of the other parallels actually look better.

Just noticed there's a PSA 10 of a 2015 LeBron that's been on PWCC's market since September with a BIN of $75K and it's a pop 1. Interesting that it's been sitting there for a couple months untouched. For the true believers, that seems like a no-brainer price but I don't think these are gonna take off the way some people expect for the reasons I and others have listed.

And if anyone's gonna respond with pitchforks because the card is on PWCC's site, just save it.

Years ago, I used to think such cards were overrated. Finally started to understand the potential with such SPs.

For all the years I used to question bberns’ acquisitions, I’m starting to realize his brilliance.

I don’t care for all SP cards (insert or not) but I do think many have potential. At the end of the day, supply will never be enough for demand. Galactic is one of those cards regardless of whether or not I particularly care for it.

I think 15-16 Futura is the best Revolution parallel ever. I said that since day one. Galactics are great due to their rarity.

I offered five figures plus when that card came up for private sale a few years ago and missed out. Saddest day of my collecting life. It is the best Galactic card ever and it is unlikely that it ever becomes pop 2 (the condition of the 15-16's is mostly rubbish).

If it is still sitting there on January 1, I will probably grab it myself. I think $75,000 is a fair price.

I like the simplicity and the continuity. Some years animation is better but Galactics are busy cards. I gravitate towards color blast and blank slate type stuff.

I think the Impacts are some of the best looking parallels and in the 150 range for 2018 and ‘19 numbered. Impact all the way for me.

Futura > Cosmic > Galactic for me in terms of eye appeal

2016 Futuras are some of the best looking parallels Panini has put out in my opinion. I do like the 2015 checklist of players better though when comparing the two years.

Galactics will never get the recognition of a set like Kaboom. They are not a good influencer target. Too rare and only in one set.
