I was at target when the lady was stocking the shelves - I got two of the figure collection boxes and two of the Mystical Squishy boxes so I can open one of each with my kids and keep one sealed - she only had one UPC and she didn’t even put it out she left it in the cart and was like that ones mine for my kids.

We were 10th in line at my target. When they opened the doors, 2 people came running into the store and ran past the line. After seeing this, I thought my kids and I had no chance so once we got past the doors, we ran too. Ran around the construction in the store and was able to slide in to get my kids 1 box each of the Pikachu Max figurine box. One girl followed me and got the last box. At least we can run faster than some of these flippers. My first time and hopefully last time doing something like that lol.

I got one from Gamestop but I had to wait in the cold at 3am this morning to get it. Origianlly set my alarm for 5:30 but couldn't fall back to sleep at 2:30 this morning so I just drove up there. Me and one other guy sat there for almost 7 hours and we got the only two they had.

Celebrations had two releases on Fridays, Oct 8th and Oct 22nd where Target was stocked (last release though some reports of Thursday stock if your Target is stocked by the vendor and not by Target). After release date, Target could stock again any day of the week.

Does anyone else think there are going to be a TON of the base 25 card set singles available? Every box and pack that gets opened is just adding to the number of Pikachu V, VMax, etc. that are available.

I love these cards. I think the long term value will be in the Classic Set, not in the base set outside of the MEW 25/25.

Yes there will be alot of the non classic cards floating around for years. which is fine, they are all rares anyway (starred) but I have been picking up lots for .3-.50 cents. Pikachus from $1-3 dollars

Picked up a dark gyardos for $4 and a venusaur for $8 this weekend.

the best cards that should hold value will be the UPC 2 metal and the 2 gold cards. The hard part will be grading the metal cards, so easy to find flaws in those cards for PSA 10s. But those should fetch $$$$ as PSA 10s

we opened a case on blowout and 2 of the 4 charizards were nicked up. pikachus were fine. Pretty disappointing. Plastic clamshells were not a good idea. i would've paid 10 extra dollars if they had invested in one touches...

Kinda just buying some still here and there. Happened to be at target right before the stock today.. Here is what was stocked...

Celebrations
ETB's (tons per usual)
First partner jumbo card packs
First Partner Mini tins
Zacian Lvl X Pin Collection

Other stuff that ws stocked was Battle Styles and Evolving skies single packs, Evolving skies single pack w/ promo card, Evolving Skies ETB's, Greninja and Mewtwo V-Union boxes, and the new boxes with the plush toys.

Ended up just grabbing two mini tins: One Kanto and one Jhoto. The Darkness Ablaze packs were duds. First tin had a Rocket's Zapdos and the second tin had a Base set Charizard

Not bad for $15 since I had a $5 toys coupon

I like seeing so much stock. I also like seeing scalped ETBs dropping like rocks on marketplaces. A lot of these flippers are about to take a straight bath on this.

They just printed so much of this set and the checklist is small so there's no need to buy that much of it. The only items worth stashing are the PokemonCenter ETB's & UPC. I think everything else will get restocked a lot in the coming months.

I like that aspect about it. Compare that to Evolving Skies where it's insane to try and chase cards by ripping sealed product. I don't have all of the subset, but pretty close now.

The UPC definitely. The Pokemon Center long term should be ahead of the regular ETB but not by much imo. The main want is the Grenija gold star which is in both so a few extra packs and the metal dice and coin really doesn't justify a huge increase in price over the ETB for me.

I'm holding a few UPCs and about half a dozen ETBs I got for MSRP and that is really it though.

I did open one of my UPC's though and the Charizard and Pikachu looked flawless but I was thinking of waiting until PSA prices come down.

I could see the 1st PSA 10 of both selling for $5000+ at least. Maybe I should send mine in.....

I was surprised the Target near me had a good number of ETBs! So I agree that there is definitely going to be supply available. Looks like Blowout dropped the price a bit on the UPCs...

I gave up searching for the UPC and bought one at the current market price. They will probably dip a little bit as the supply increases but those probably wont get reprinted so I'm fine with it.

I've only opened a couple ETB's and haven't been that lucky with the classic collection, so I will probably just pick up some singles once the prices drop more in a few months.

Side note, I really like the Japanese versions. Might try to pick up some of those as well.

Man, has this stuff ever tanked. Two weeks after release and I think there are three cards that reliably sell for more than $25.

If Nintendo really wants to sustain heightened interest in these sets they're at some point going to have to take a play out of the sportscards book, and start producing parallels, serial #'d cards, inserts, etc. Otherwise the casual buyer is just going to drift away, and they'll have essentially the same customer base they've had for the last five years.

It's just an extremely overprinted set with a small checklist. A few of the big chase cards will retain some value, but most will be really cheap.

Pokemon's version of parallels would be the different types of Rares (Secret, Ultra, Rainbow, Holo V, Holo VMAX, etc..). The pull rates for Evolving Skies for example is a lot less forgiving.

Really hope the high print run trend continues for a bit for upcoming sets.

The combination of stuff being constantly readily available along with one of the big retailers like Target still limiting amount per purchase, hopefully this will eventually rid of the scaplers and slowly bring everything back to normal.

That's a good thing if you are just interested in the cards and not using them as some investment vehicle.
