So the Twins get Correa and to make it work, they just needed to find a sucker for Donaldsons contract.......oh wait

It would have been very hard for me to continue to root for this team if they signed that Astros cheater.

While I agree to an extent, correa is a vastly better player than Donaldson who isnt that likeable in his own right. Instead of that trade why not just make Correa a similar offer and keep Gio. We're talking what 10m difference in payroll? Does Cashman even know you can do short term high aav deals with opt outs?

NYY hire people a lot smarter than myself, so I'm sure there's a reason for them seemingly helping Minnesota get Correa on a short term low risk move. But it's hard to see right now.

Maybe they are sick of dealing and getting burned by Boras who always demands long term deals knowing his clients will be albatrosses to those teams by the end but he's just smiling and counting his money.

Except this time Boras wanted a short term deal with opt outs otherwise Correa's prior agent would get a lot of the comp

If the Yankees were going to spend the money on Correa, I don't see them going for a deal like that. They were all in or nothing which may be the real reason they took a flyer on him. Why play games with a player because his agent wants more money in his pocket?

To me it just comes off as no one else really wanted Correa so he had to go to the Twins. Does anyone really think thats where he wanted to go? lol Good luck in Minnesota, thrilled he won't be a Yankee. Also keeps the path clear for the young guys to take over in another yr or so.

Your ace didn't deny doctoring the ball last year, let alone the whistling at The Stadium.

You mean he was putting the same stuff on the ball that most pitchers had been doing until MLB decided to finally enforce the rule after the season started last year? Where do you think he learned that crap? From the cheating Houston Astros AKA Verlander and Morton. Their spin rates were unbelievable in Houston!

You mean the whistling that the Yankees used from the dugout against the Mets because Taijuan Walker was tipping his pitches? News flash: That's not illegal.

Astros fans.

Just so frustrating to see everyone around you get better while Cashman thinks you are stupid enough to be excited for Josh Donaldson.

And if anyone in here mentions Volpe as a solution, just know that you have been indoctrinated into the very mindset that Cashman and co want you to have. "wE CaN'T BlOCk OuR #1 prOSPeCT!!"

Every Spring the Yankees are going to win the World Series. Even when it was Oscar Azocar and Hensley Muelens. So this Spring is no different. There will be plenty of time to call for Cashman and Hal's. head. As of now Oswaldo Cabrera is the next big thing.

I'm giving Cashman a slight reprieve this year since he finally got rid of Sanchez.

I'm less concerned about Kiner-Falefa and Donaldson than I am about the catching situation.

MLB is being ordered to unseal the sign stealing investigation into NYY. I've wondered what this letter said for a while. Thought it was strange how NYY got off untouched when it appeared they were heavily involved in the sign stealing scandal.

They were fined for it by MLB, so I'm not sure how that is untouched.

Manfred's own words:

Quote:
"We learned that during an earlier championship season (prior to 2017) the Yankees had violated a rule governing the use of the dugout phone. No Club complained about the conduct in question at the time and, without prompting from another Club or my Office, the Yankees halted the conduct in question. Moreover, the substance of the communications that took place on the dugout phone was not a violation of any Rule or Regulation in and of itself.

"Rather, the violation occurred because the dugout phone technically cannot be used for such a communication. Based on the foregoing, I have decided to fine the Yankees a lesser undisclosed amount which in turn will be donated by my office to hurricane relief efforts in Florida.”

Maybe he means public perception.

I remember this and the Red Sox Apple Watch at the same time being a big deal. It just gets overshadowed now by the Astros cheating scandal and the subsequent Red Sox cheating scandal because they occurred after the 2017 incidents came to light which led the Commissioner's Office to remind teams teams what was legal and what was illegal.

I am concerned about Donaldson's ability to stay healthy, but I agree about the catching situation. They really need to look around for something other than Higashioka.

I'm not an Astros' fan, in fact I think the championship should be taken from them.

Google "whistling Yankees sign stealing" and you'll see what I'm talking about. It happened throughout the season.
