Well it looks like Covid strikes:

We were planning an in-person visit this week to start the print run, but my son has been exposed to C-19, so he and I both have to quarantine.

I do think an in-person visit is important, but by the time my 14-day period is over I suspect both states we live in will be in full lockdown. We will try to do it over Zoom.

Take care of yourselves! In person is important but not that important!

Thanks. Took some time off the past week or so over the holiday. Tom too. Printing is a bit delayed, as Tom is still knee deep in a variety of things, and pre-press is taking longer than expected.

I ended up having to completely redo all the files for the metal cards, but they are now off to the printer. Working on finding a vendor for the temporary tattoos today.

Merry Christmas all.

Unfortunately, due to issues with sketch card procurement, it is likely this set will be delayed. We are still hopeful of meeting our March date, but right now we've received less than half of the sketch cards we need, and we've had to go back to those who completed in the summer and ask for more, to make sure we have enough to ship. As such, we need to extend the deadlines, because we want to give new and refreshed artists time to complete their next round of sketch cards.

Above all, we want the set to be GREAT, even if it has to be late to achieve it.

After all, a late set is only late once-- a bad set that's on time is bad forever.

Update by Friday, Tom will be posting photos of all the stuff printed so far, so people don't think we're just not doing anything.

Tom's definitely got a lot going on, but right now the issue is availability of materials. But we have produced a lot already. Binders are all done, pins, patches, and 4 of the hot packs are printed and wrapped. All the wax wrappers are complete.

The main things holding us back are the base set paper stock, foil variant stock (which our suppliers tell us won't be ready until Feb now), and completion of sketch cards.

I'm hoping Tom can take some pics of the already completed stuff for our update so backers can see that a lot has already been done. I don't want people thinking he is just sitting around doing nothing because he's lazy.

I doubt anyone thinks he’s being lazy! Just glad to hear stuff is rolling along. No point in rushing things. Take your time and make the best product possible. It will be worth the wait!!

Tom says printing should happen in the next couple of weeks. Will make sure he takes lots of pics/video.

Yes. That product is unrelated to Uprising, and done entirely by the Topps online team.

Oh I knew it was unrelated. More just seeing if you knew about it. Just interesting to see Topps still playing around with MA....

I was one of the loudest voices at Topps pushing MA after Jeff Zapata left, and I feared when I exited in 2015 it might all stop-- so I am always happy to see them continue putting out new product.

This is such an awesome brand, I'm glad that it continues to live on. I'm ever hopeful Topps can revive it for TV or film one day, with a more appropriate tone to match the original cards.

Thanks for keeping MA alive! If it wasn’t for you we probably wouldn’t have the Attacky Packages. That set has thrived since you included Neil’s concept with the Occupation series. I personally love when MA series keep to the vintage tone and pulp-like feel. I would love to see an ongoing MA story series. Maybe a weekly or monthly set. The more Mars the better. Thanks again for all that you do and I can’t wait to see the finished Uprising set!

340,000 Mars Attacks: Uprising cards have been delivered to SideKick from the printer. They will now be collated into sets (base sets, parallel sets, chase sets, etc.)

They will then be collated into packs along with sketch cards, metal cards, autographs, etc., then packs into boxes.
