CP3, Dame and Westbrook could sell well if their play would lead to more success of their respective teams.
That’s what Ja needs at one point, Grizzlies need to be a contender with Ja’s fingerprint on it.

Some people are trying to argue for Curry being MVP, yet they have a worse record than the Grizzlies and Curry has a better supporting cast than Ja.

There's a lot of Curry nuthuggers plus everything is flavor of the week since he's hot now.

JJJ opens up so much room for ja. The other guys are fringe backups.

Curry is a class of it’s own and Ja will be a class if it’s own.
How long did Curry need to really arrive one the NBA? 3 years?
I hope Memphis can somehow stay healthy and make the playoffs.

I understand Ja and Curry are both exceptionally talented point guards, and I agree Ja will be a GREAT player (26/9, 8x all-star). But:
A- the better game-style analogy is AI (attack, don’t shoot... please don’t shoot)
B- Hard to imagine Ja ever wins a unanimous MVP or quite hits the second highest level stratosphere short of GOAT which is where Curry’s legacy has/will end up.
C- Curry changed the game with his style of play. Ja won’t. It’s too athletic to the point of recklessness for lesser athletes.

I don’t know if he’s on the level of any “great” quite yet, but the fact that we’re even mentioning him with Curry or AI /8x all-stars would suggest his stuff is waaaaay too cheap now and possibly a buy-low target now rather than in the “off season.”

I agree with the above poster—JJJ in the lineup = a MUCH better version of Ja. Just watch the games, it’s a huge difference. Before JJJ—I thought Ja was a “hold” type player, now—his stuff has crashed so much that he’s right there with the buys—especially his rookie stuff. So many graded/dumped Ja that you can pick up some nice graded stuff of his for just over the grading fees alone.

Ja has the fact that he makes highlight real plays almost every game going for him. Hopefully that will keep him in the spot light even though he is in a small market for some time.

JJJ does appear to be back in fully healthy which as you mentioned help significantly. Ja plays really well with him and I do think JJJ benefit significantly from playing with Ja.

Griz look good lately even without Jonas. Dillon Brooks actually passed the ball once. They have loss several very close games or their record will be much better. Interestingly they have had the hardest strength of schedule this far in the season and have the easiest and remaining strength of schedule. Hopefully they can go on a nice run to finish out.

I don't think I was very clear. The point of my original Curry post wasn't trying to say Ja is as good as Curry or ever will be. It was more so that people have been dogging on Ja for not putting up big numbers but he has put his crap roster in playoff position yet Curry is getting MVP talk with a worse record and a much better roster.
I guess I don't get why he's not getting any love anymore, doesn't make sense to me.

Grizzlies record without Ja: 4-4
Warriors record without Steph: 1-7

Are you saying you think the Grizzlies supporting cast is better than the Warriors?

What I'm saying is Curry is more important to the Warriors than Ja is to the Grizzlies. Grizzlies are still .500 or above without Ja. They actually win more games when he scores less points. The opposite goes for the Warriors - they lose when Curry scores less, and are a much, much worse team without him.

That's why Steph is in the MVP conversation. He won't win it, bc Jokic is clearly MVP, but there are multiple games where he's carried the team to the win. If you took him off the team, they'd be getting another lottery pick.

Another great game by Ja. Nice back to back wins over the blazers. Tough turn around with Denver tomorrow but JJJ got the day off so hopefully they can make it competitive tomorrow

Terrible game from Ja Morant tonight. Anyone else concerned? Getting tossed at the end of the game also wasn’t a good look

didn't watch the game, the numbers look quite bad, seems like one of those nights where the shot just don't fall.

2nd game in 3 nights held under double digit scoring. He's had a few monster performances recently though. But he doesn't quite look right this year, especially since the ankle injury.

Hope he turns it up for the postseason, or addresses whatever may be bothering him this summer heading into next year.
