How long does it take after getting to assembly for the registry trick to work?

should work right away, but the card needs to be in a registry and you have to add that set

That is very quick compared to economy right now. I wonder if they are waiting to finish dealer economy before grading the CC economy.

Were you expecting express level turn arounds? its just gotten past 1/3 of the way there. Give a guy and inch and he will ask for a foot.

1 for 2 gem. No worries about the first one as it's a tough grade and a PSA 8 is a decent grade for that card!

PSA CEO Steve Sloan was on the new podcast PSA launched today. He confirmed backlog is currently sitting at 6M cards today. He said based on them grading 200k a week, they should be totally caught up by end of August. He also confirmed lower prices were coming back, and that it would be back before they are totally caught up on the backlog. Before the podcast ends, President of PSA joins and says they are hoping to bring back value by May/June.

If it takes them 18 months to get through the backlog from the time they stopped accepting submissions, I am not sure where the confidence is coming from that they can open back up value.
At their current rate, they can get through 6 million in 6 months.....and they will get 10 million the day they open back up value anywhere below $30 unless they really throttle it.
I am surprised they are still only grading 200,000 per week I would have expected that number to climb at s more rapid pace. They need to be at 500,000 per week to get to the point where they can open things up again at any sort of normal quantity.

I mean the easy answer is you don’t let it be a free for all with submissions, right? A queue will address that

Yeah but that means they haven't really solved anything.
You can't really call it bulk if you can only send 10 in at a time. They will have had 18 months to get it straightened out. I would expect them to have fixed the output problem not throttling the input.

I wouldn't think that they would limit value submissions to 10. More along the lines of noting the number of members and setting a larger monthly limit for each that would not exhaust the system if everyone sent in at once. They can't just go to zero backlog before opening up again as they would risk having to lay people off or eat the cost. You limit the number of value submissions per month for club members and this can be adjusted based upon demand.

This would also set them up for any future rushes/mountains as they could tighten or loosen the restrictions as needed. I wouldn't be surprised if they introduced higher tiers of club levels that would allow for more submissions as well.

But who knows? Maybe they will say 10 and that's it!

It wasn't that long ago (November?) that weekly output was at 40k...so in less than 3 months time, they've 5x their output. They are building out an East Coast location. Once that's up and running, the weekly output will go up significantly. As a business, they need to expand smartly and not overdo it. You can never tell if submission demand may drop as buyer demand drops. I've worked for two great private companies that went bankrupt because they were overzealous in their expansions, committed too much capital to new sites/personnel so that when demand for their services dropped, they eventually went bankrupt...100+ year old companies that folded in less than 3 years after they expanded. PSA won't get 10 million cards the day they open up value because they will control how much is submitted...only enough to keep their workforce 100% busy and meeting stated deadlines. People will have to be selective just like they're now with economy until the east coast location opens up. If people can't be patient or dont like the quantity they can submit, they can take their business elsewhere but PSA is doing what they can to smartly expand and not have another gigantic backlog.

They will wipe out the backlog from before the March shutdown by end of summer but moment to moment, they will probably carry 1 to 1.5 million cards waiting to be graded always so there's 100% work for their staff based on advertised turnaround time. It's always a moving target as to how many cards will be sent to them and they're constantly adjusting. They will probably continue to use the lottery for when value submissions are accepted week to week. They don't reveal how much is available in each allocation...that allows them to change the numbers being submitted depending on how much current inventory of ungraded cards they have waiting and at what turnaround time. They won't have a free for all like before at least until another grading facility opens up.

No but when someone else’s economy sub is sent 2 days before mine and has been completed while mine has been in grading for a month…kind of makes a guy anxious…
