people were buying prizm boxes for less then $100 just a few years ago.
unless they started printing the cards on gold then i dont see how they should increase so much.
the average collector is not spending no $400 on a box of cards let alone prizm.
i sure as hell am not.
Who is to blame? Do you know how much Panini is selling these to distributors?

Is the middle-man actually the one jacking prices up?

the people to blame are the people that stand for this and will spend $400 on a box of prizm.
if people didnt buy it they would be forced to lower it. same with any product or anything.

Zion Black 1/1 is big time six figure card. All his Prizm Gold's are going to do crazy money. Giannis PSA 10 Base sells for $500. I imagine Zion won't be too far off that. Not to mention the rest of this rookie class is completely loaded. I think it's a steal at $400 honestly.

This seems pertinent now.

Sorry brahs, I may have tipped the system. Was getting the ' you have ordered the limit of 10 boxes for this product' popup message yesterday afternoon after about my 23rd order placed. Didn't make sense then, but makes sense now.

Weird. Can't see how he circumvented the system unless he was just straight up lucky.

I checked out as guest and none of my orders have been cancelled. Same name, address and credit card.

With as much retail that has been sold on the walmart site, how much will actually make it (if any) to the shelves? Any guesses out there? Like 50% of the production? Less/more?

considering they still have stuff in stock on their website, I don't think they will be hurting for supply. I doubt much makes it to physical stores, I just walked around 2 targets today and the space for cards / hobby stuff is ridiculously small now. from a business standpoint it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to ship and sell from physical locations anyway

So if all these boxes were returned today (I had over 50 refunded), when are they going to re-release them online?

I wouldn't be surprised if they refunded over 5000 boxes today...

I doubt they just singled out the hangers to limit. I think this is more because they had very little online supply/stock. Else, we can expect a lot more cancellations in the coming days if they limit all sku's to 10 per.

I didn't just get my boxes from yesterday returned. They also canceled an order of Prizms I did back on October 3rd. Anyone else get that?

It’ll probably be any minute now. Just keep refreshing Walmart’s webpage. Don’t stop or you’ll miss them.

I find it odd they didn’t see to mind selling 300+ hangers to people with 2018 Topps Update only a few weeks ago.

They also had a 10 limit order.

That's promising. Maybe that means they won't cancel anymore?

FWIW, I also had orders cancelled from 10/3, but only some of the hangers. Hopefully the rest will ship.

not to poop all over everyone, but how many of the "oh noes I didn't get away with going way over the limit so I could re-sell for easy profit" are the same people who decry the gouging by Panini and the big online retailers? I fully intend to rip open every box I buy, and yes probably sell most of the contents, but can we not get any more whining about cancelled orders when you knew it was supposed to be a 10 unit limit?

There was no limit. You could only buy 10 at a time that was the only limit. People buying absurd amounts are partially doing so to mock $400+ hobby box prices

there's always a limit. seems pretty obvious after everyone is getting cut from their credit card max to 10.

"Walmart reserves the right, including without prior notice, to limit the quantity of items purchased per person, per household, or per order for any reason. We will attempt to notify you should such limits be applied. Walmart also reserves the right, at our sole discretion, to prohibit sales to dealers or resellers. For purposes of these Terms of Use, “reselling” will be defined as purchasing or intending to purchase any Product(s) from Walmart for the purpose of engaging in a commercial sale of the same Product(s) to a third party."

if you intend on ripping every single pack / box to build your PC or whatever, that's cool. but I know most were looking to flip. it's good that they're trying to allow the wealth to be spread around, no?
