That's when you need it to combat father time.

Cano, Melky, and A-Rod were all best buds with the Yanks.

To say that those 2 only started using when they left the Yankees... yeah, I don't think so. I don't even know what timeline A-Rod's actually admitted to (I still remember when he went on Francesa's show and said it was all BS ), but the timeline of his usage goes all the way back to high school.

Who is ready to dump one of these (or gold or red or sc sunglasses) at off-season prices?

Big prove he’s legit season. Just not sure what the Padres plans are for him going forward.

Assuming he is fully healed and stays out of trouble, RF this year. Then if Machado leaves next off-season they’ll have to decide whether to move him back to the INF.

Wow… amazing how much these would still be! I may have to unload one in the pre-season, as I have 3-4 of them

The other person asked what I thought a PSA 10 would go for now, since I’m ISO one. Based on other people’s comments that his cards are down 75% - 90% from peak, I guessed $500.

Still so very, very disappointing to be that physically gifted and that mentally stunted.

(sigh)

Great looking baseball card.

Ahhh! Well, you made me look, and I guess a raw one sold on auction Jan 2 for $300… definitely looks like it had white corners, too, so guess prices are strong even for raw

Unfortunately, talent and intelligence don't always come in the same package.

I hadn’t seen any recent sales when I threw my offer out there (6 weeks ago). $300 raw is pretty strong all things considered.

Default Fernando Tatis Jr

I’m sensing a possible redemption story here. I don’t think there’s a stat line out there that will send his cards into some new unseen post-boom stratosphere. Too many economic factors and recent new emerging guys to take some attention away. I wouldn’t be surprised though, to see an ultra focused and possibly maturing Tatis put up great numbers and return to being a fan favorite after a short period.
America loves a great comeback story and we all make huge mistakes in life.
Definitely an interesting story line I’ll be following in the next couple years.

Hopefully this is the bit of humble pie that he needed for a great future. Soto had his last year, Acuna had his with the knee injury. A little adversity if taken the right way can get their heads in the right direction...the talent is there.

Soto needed humble pie?! LOLZ!

He’s ALREADY a world Series hero, and still due for his mega payday. A bad august does not humble a man.

And acuna got HURT. How was he given a short order of humble pie?!

Dipshit jr is the only one in this comparison that got his just 🧁.

It’s possible. But at the end of the day he’s a moron, a cheater, and a liar. Not a good combination of traits to roll the dice on recovering his image.

Roll the dice meaning buy his nicer cards at the still ridiculous levels they’re at?Absolutely agree.

To me it’s almost impossible to imagine going big card hunting on any of the hobby darlings who’ve debuted since 2018 products, even if they were saints who gave all their money and time to worthy causes.
Sellers wistful memories of peak boom pricing combined with some strong economic and industry specific headwinds make it all seem foolish to me.

I was just referencing his status as a big league ball player and San Diego Padre going forward.
