Things like that should be damn near instant.
My last couple took 3 days, I can live with that

I moved some cards from my pending shipment to try to add to my Kobe Bryant PC port over there.

Nothing too crazy but some nice affordable Doncic inserts and a couple of Kobe duplicates.

If anyone wants to buy anything so I can buy a few more kobes I'd really appreciate it. Up to almost 80 kobe cards there now... mostly all low end but it has been a very fun collection to build

Happy hunting gentlemen.

Edit- decided to try to sell a nice little port. All Kobe and Luka. Only 11 cards. $80 for anyone from blowout that wants them. (Assuming that they dont sell in the meantime)

Very cool! I do something similar in that I use all funds to fuel my LeBron PC. I'm up to about 600 unique cards, but now they are starting to get pricey!

On a separate note, when considering a port sale, what is everyone's rule of thumb? I have a total asking price a little north of $10k when added together, and should have the lowest price on just about every card (some by a decent margin). I definitely price to sell. If I were to look to sell it all off in one lump sum, what is a typical discount on top of that? An additional 30%? (If it helps, most of my stuff is last 7 years of basketball.)

Most port sales sell between 15-30% of the initial list prices. But that's because most people discount their cards through Sales first. So all the best cards have already been purchased. If you're looking to sell at only a 30% discount, run a sale instead.
Highest I've paid for a port sale (now I don't buy much) was like 40% on a lot of mainly football hall of fame autographed cards.

I appreciate the response. Looks like I need to be in the 40% range if I want to go that route (which I think I'd be fine with). They're newly listed - for the most part - so not heavily picked, but I do see what your saying. I'll look into a sale later today. Thanks!

That is my favorite part of comc... being able to buy PC cards that I really like for less that 3 bucks is always gonna make me a happy slacker.

As far as port sales... i have found that breaking my inventory down into smaller ports gets me more return. People seem to see an asking price of 1k and assume that the seller would be happy with 400. This may be the case with some people but like you I try to price my cards that I am selling lower than anyone else. I also try to have nice inventory that isnt going to just be dead stock. Obviously dont mind the buyer getting a good / great deal but I also dont want to just give my stuff away.

I have sold ports of only Giannis cards. Only jimmy G cards. Mostly ton brady cards... seems to get me much more in returns doing it that way. Slow and steady but I went over 10k in total sales a few weeks ago

Two questions, I'm hoping to get answer for. I am a reseller.

1) I like this idea of selling off a port of individual players. How do you create a "port of only Giannis cards"? I have a single port, that is my port. I have multiple low/mid/high of cards of LeBron, Harden, Michael Porter Jr., Giannis, Tatum, Anthony Davis, Ben Simmons, etc. Multiple copies or desired base cards, like optic/prizm, etc. How do I break off those Giannis cards and offer them up for sale in a different port?

2) Is there any way to see the SALE price of cards from the 'inventory' view. Ever since I've used COMC, the 'inventory' view only gives you the base sale price of cards, and any sale price is ignored. It would save me 10's of thousands of clicks each week if I could see the SALE prices, not the base prices.

Thanks!

Alex

1) You can't, port sales are based on sport and year range so in order to split by Player you have to mark everything else in the sport or year range as not for sale while the port sale is active.

2) No, COMC would have to update that page to display sale price field instead of the list price field.

I just make everything that isnt of the specific player not for sale... but I am dealing with hundreds of cards not tens of thousands.

Couldn't find an answer to this elsewhere, and COMC's FAQ on Elite processing doesn't have this... when submitting for reprocessing as "Elite," the options are "Reprocess as Elite" or "Reprocess as Elite + Wipe." Is that wipe just giving the slab a wipe with a cloth or something? Or is that something different? Gotta know what kind of wipe I can get for $2 these days.

I just checked a raw card, so I don't believe it is graded cards only. Seems to be a waste of $2 on a graded card, unless the case is scratched pretty badly.

That's odd, I just checked a few raw cards and it's available for all of the ones I tried.
Does seem like a luxury expense, to say the least, if it's just a wipe down. Hope they mind the autos...

Is there a way to have a pending shipment put back into your active inventory?

I am not aware of one, but if it is possible, you'd need to get their customer support staff do it for you. Not an option for users to select on their website.

Why is it that mailbox submissions seem to be a priority over regular submissions? I did a current year 3-week sub that was supposed to be completed on September 18 without a single card being processed so far, yet a mailbox sub I have from a group break that has a projected finish date of October 28 has already begun processing cards

Because they charge slightly more. And to confirm that you received the cards that you were sent from other online retailers. Presumably you know what you sent in, but there is always a question of whether or not you got the cards you purchased in the same condition pictured. Processing mailbox submissions faster helps accomplish that goal.

Requested a shipment in mid-June. Now 40 days past estimated shipping date.

I get it COMC. I hear you loud and clear. I can no longer send in cards and can no longer receive cards.

I think alot of people are hearing it. Selection of new releases has gone way down, people have had enough.

Gotta wonder if the Black Friday sale will go on this year, the way things are going. Would be a shame not to have it, but how they would handle the demand on top of how things are is the question.

I know I went to ship some cards back, my 4th pending shipment since I’ve been waiting 4 plus months for my previous shipments, and their projected date is February 3rd. Which probably means March 3rd. Unless I want to pay $80 extra for rushed. I mostly had stopped buying there but I got cute and thought I could save a few bucks buying on there vs. eBay. I don’t mind waiting but I was thinking I’d have to wait until Christmas not March lol. This is my last shipment until they can ship within a two week timeframe.

I was looking forward to the Spring Cleaning sale for both buying and selling, though I have little left to sell (I have a few hundred $1 cards I could submit though). So I thought “Black Friday for sure.” But I have to think it is fairly doubtful right now.

Miscellaneous COMC question: OK, so pandemic response probably includes changes to work spaces and distancing within and perhaps maximums on people inside certain spaces, etc. And they are hiring and training, probably giving out retention raises, etc. I am not interested in exact details on that; but only this -

Does COMC run at least 2 “shifts” of employees in their facilities?

I have a question for you COMC gurus. I'm buying through eBay so I get my cards in a reasonable time frame. Looking at two of the same card, one says Grade: Raw and the other says Grade: EX to NM.

Is one of these going to be in much better shape than the other, or do I just look at the pictures and hope for the best? They're sub-$4 promo cards so we're not talking big money, but I still don't want to accidentally buy a more ragged one because I don't know better. Thanks.
