Thanks for chiming in. I wanted to get your opinion on something since even though it’s been awhile since you worked there you have a much better idea of their operations than any one else. Do you think that Covid is the cause of the 4.5 month shipping delays or is it more likely the eBay sales? I believe it’s probably a bit of both and it can’t be just covid, because for an additional $80-$100 they will get me my order in a reasonable time. But I know Seattle is a lot more strict than other places. My brother lives in Seattle and hasn’t stepped foot in his office since March. Is shipping something that can be done while socially distanced or is it all in cramped spaces where it would be hard to stay safe with a normal working crew. It just seems lots of places are learning to function within the new rules, which I know varies from state to state. But if Vegas can open our casinos in a relatively safe way it seems like Comc could put up some plexiglass and wear masks to get their business up in running in a fashion that works a little better for their customers. Any thoughts on this subject would be greatly appreciated.
Call my name and I eventually appear ;-)

I get a sense that it's a combination of covid and eBay...if it was one or the other, we probably wouldn't be seeing any issues, but when they pile on each other, they compile and cause delays.

My office does a ton of shipping via USPS/UPS and it took us 2-3 months to adapt to the social distancing requirements of the State. We fell way behind over the spring and early summer, but as things re-opened, we managed to get back up to our pre-covid speed, when it came to processing orders and getting them out the door. COMC has more people than where I work, but they also have more space for people to spread out. After all this time, a lot of companies who deal in mail order have adapted to the changes, but COMC seems to be an exception.

If they're allowing other shipments to go this long without being processed, they're either handcuffed by the agreement they have with eBay in such a way that they have to prioritize those shipments and get them out, no matter what...or, they're making so much bank on eBay, that they believe they can afford to let the rest of the shipments slide for however long they want, because they got that sweet eBay money rolling in.

When it comes to COMC, it usually makes sense to follow the money...because that's what they'll end up doing.

They are also obligated to ship out epack cards (direct epack website orders), and I think those have contractual priority like ebay orders. Those probably take a lot of shipping resources also.

Got a fairly high-end card (Luis Robert auto) added to my account that I definitely didn’t submit. Sent a couple messages without a reply. Is there a better way to flag this for the COMC team? Want to make sure it gets reunited with the rightful owner...

Also, has anyone else had cards (seemingly randomly) scanned as elite, even though they were just submitted as 3-week? Had a couple like that last week, and seems like I was charged the normal amount, so just trying to understand why they would have been given different treatment. Obviously, not complaining about getting the better scan for free, just confused...

Sent in a 3 week guaranteed last week, delivered Friday and input to account as received today. We'll see how it goes. This has been my worst sale month all year so hoping things aren't slowing down too much.

I ordered cards (From E-pack) in June.
Shipping Date on the order was 9/6/2020

They shipped on 10/11/2020

For the first problem (cards in your account not yours), you can submit a correction request from the Inventory Manager on the card, email with the subject line *URGENT* at the front, contact them on social media. If you don't get a response in two days, let me know and I'll elevate the issue.

Second, it's possible they split up orders among different remote processing sites to increase the speed of it, and in doing so, forgot that you submitted at the regular service level. The person doing the scanning may have had the Elite scanning setup going and just did your grouping. Are any of your new cards "remote listings"?

Yeah my sales fell off a cliff in the middle of the month. Granted I don’t have too much left after they got most of my submission done, but I still expected a couple of them to sell by now.

My sales have been terrible for the last ~6 weeks, despite mostly lowest prices and progressively higher sale promotions. I think the shipping delays are turning buyers away.

Bitch & Ye Shall Receive is the way of the world sometimes. Though I didn’t make it to the level of contacting COMC, my package shipped yesterday.

6-14 requested; 10-26 shipped

I did not know that...thanks for the info. If epacks are selling well (I wouldn't know, I don't play in those leagues) then that and eBay would be taking up a lot of their bandwidth. But, at the same time, there's no reason why COMC couldn't have even one or two people assigned to just working on delinquent orders...

There is a trick if the card originally came from Upper Deck ePack. Someone in the nonsports forum showed it to me. Search the threads there for ePack. Not sure if it works for cards that are not through Upper Deck.

Thanks for the help. Submitted a correction request along with another email so hopefully that does the trick.

As for the elite scan question, none of my cards got the remote listing tag, but the cards that were scanned differently were added on a different day. Maybe that is what happened...

They did that once for a card I Had that was valued over a few hundred. I probably should have submitted using Elite.

For your other concern, it could take weeks for them to find out and transfer the card(s) to their rightful owner.

Don't think so. I think part of using their images is they want credit for them.

Thank you so much for the reply. I really do appreciate your input and time.

It really makes sense to me that they are just prioritizing what makes the most sense for them, I’m honestly a little surprised that their base business isn’t more profitable for them but maybe they were seeing good business even though they weren’t shipping any cards. I know that I was still buying cards and just assumed they would ship sooner than 3 months, but now that it’s 4.5 months later I’ve mostly stopped buying stuff, but that only recently happened. As horrible as it sounds this might still work out for them because I can’t decide if I’m just done with them or if I’ll return to my old habits once they eventually get their act together. It could go either way for me.

I have asked them multiple times to remove the watermark during Challenges, since it obscures the card number or serial numbers in a lot of cases. It's obviously overlaid on the images, since when they rotate an image, the COMC watermark changes locations with the 90 degree shift.

I meant that the determination of orientation of the card is embedded in the website logic and that it's applied to the base photograph. The fact that ePack cards have no watermark is kind of a confirmation of this. I don't think they're going back to the original scan and adding the watermark to them on an individual basis. Otherwise they wouldn't able to rotate them so quickly, and they wouldn't get so many wrong initially. I have to think the website is doing the heavy lifting for them.
Maybe Moe can weigh in on it.

I emailed COMC about my shipment, which is now at the 130 day mark. I am waiting for their reply. I will give them a day or two to respond, but it appears that my next move will have to be this:

Consumer Protection division of the Washington State Attorney General's Office at 206-464-6684 or 1-800-551-4636.

I am tired of their lies and incompetence.
