It looks to me one of the two may be undervalued? A PSA 9 refractor goes for a whole lot more than the PSA 9 leaf certified. Heck it looks like the mirror red leaf could be had for less than the chrome refractor in equivalent grades. Am I missing something or do the first Topps chrome carry that much weight?
I think a big part of it has to do with the NFL uniform. Some people just don't like college uniforms or sweatpants which is the case for a lot of Brady rookies.

I'm also personally curious what will happen with interest in older Topps Chrome early cards once Fanatics starts producing under their brand (that is going to happen right?). For Bradys for one, but also for guys in the 2012-2015 window that had both Topps Chrome and Prizm RCs. Like will Russell Wilson's Topps Chrome card move ahead of the 2012 Prizm, etc.

And will cards like the 2012 Prizm Brady become comparatively less desirable than they are now if Topps Chrome has a resurgence?

I thought the same thing and I agree. Topps chrome> everything else once fanatics takes over.

This has been my thought process. As time passes, anything panini becomes just a small blip on the sportscard timeline. Shiny stuff will always be desirable because clectorz, but the return of legacy brands cannot be understated.

The recent resurgence in the hobby with Prizm and NT as the flagship brands will cement its place in the hobby forever.

Key sets (2012), key cards (golds, Giannis, certain RPAs, etc.) will be fine and keep the interest forever.

There’s so much money involved now that Prizm just won’t go away.

I think the older cards will only become more desirable and valuable once that happens.

Ideally/that’s how it should be. I’d be wondering why anything much newer would do better than “equal” cards from 2000

Look at all of the 90s cards from previous manufacturers, they are some of the most loved and collected cards in the hobby. I am personally keeping all of my Brady refractors, on card autos, patch/jersey cards etc. Who even knows if he has cards like that ever again? Most are very limited in either production or high grade, so to me, it will be more desired over time.

I think the rookies will always carry more weight, especially the rare serial-numbered ones.

Yup, but it's too bad. I think there is a lot of college serial numbered rookies like the Pacific Vanguard which is numbered 762 and should be more valuable...

100%!

Pretty much every serial #’d rookie should be more valuable it seems. Since the numbers on them are so small relative to collectors/demand, at least one would think.

Prism Prospects /1000, Pros and Prospects /1000, Mystique /2000, Donruss /1325, Leaf Certified /1500, Ionix /2000, Collectors Edge /2000, Donruss Elite /2000, Ultimate Victory /2000, the Private Stocks, Playoff Prestige /2500 etc

Lots aren’t in a Patriots uniform, but there are so few of those which is obviously why collectors want them. There has to be a day when the rarity of the others comes in, as far as them being harder and harder to find

Imagine if Jordan had serial #’d rookies like that…

I think the #d rcs are some of the best bang for your buck buys in the current market

most common collectors are priced out of his full pads/pats uni #d rcs

100% fake
Has the base /2000, Showcase /250, Legacy /20 and Masterpiece /1. No card /25 in that set.

It's a custom card. See how he took out the official product verbiage.
I reported it but curious how ebay's new authentication process will handle it if it sells

BGS 8 Showcase 12/2000 just went for $39,100. Pretty solid sale. Roughly 8x premium over standard BGS 8.

Bet it was someone here. I was in at $20k (also have one other jersey numbered rookie) but it got a bit rich as I expected.

If you're not selling now, I'd just wait a little for the prices at PSA to come down.
