That’s THE Bryce ‘Grail’, right?
Trout’s Super sells for $4M in BGS 9, wonder if Bryce BGS 9.5 even makes it to $400k?

Should go over a million I would imagine. After his postseason this year and second MVP last year.

Tough news and hopefully everything goes well with the surgery. Really good player who has just a little time left to become great.

TJ would knock him out till June ?

Unless he can DH ?

I have no clue if he could hit early ?

But maybe it won’t be TJ

Didn't break $500k.

Wonder what it does if this was auctioned during the playoff run and/or before the surgery announcement.

It’s obviously a lot of money for a piece of cardboard, but it would seem to be a bit disappointing.

I’d be really curious to see what the 2010 Bowman Chrome USA superfractor would go for…

Torn which 2012 Update card to get.

Don't care for the All Star logo on one. Don't care for the debut date on the other.

Which one is more desired?

Any help?

My previous post can be ignored.

How can the counterfeit/reprints of 2012 Topps Series 2 661(A) be distinguished from the authentic?

Someone got a steal. Down the road it's going to sell for a lot more.

You think so?

Let’s say he can add another 8-10 years of productive ball adding 50% of the WAR he did from 20-30 years old. He’ll make it to 65 WAR. A tough feat to be sure.

Let’s be generous and bump it to 70 WAR. He’ll finish his career with a net performance among the likes of: Trammel, Larkin, Raines, Murray, Cano, Evans. The list gets much longer if you expand down to 60 WAR, of course.

And that’s before we consider if he may not even as much like-ability as some of them.

How much do you think those recent history players would pull in? Would it be as much as Harper just did for their singular “best” RC???

Don’t see how - market value was established with the sale
Maybe / maybe not - a lot more on top of what was just paid would be REALLY a lot

Great card / seems like selling price was strong and ‘makes sense’. Hopefully buyer and seller are both happy

With how cards are trending it's going to be a really good price. Two time MVP and he's a superstar we saw what he can do in the playoffs and how he put the team on his back. As long as he stays healthy he's gonna be a slam dunk Hall Of Famer.

Was kind of bad timing of the auction ending as they got eliminated from the playoffs + announcement of his surgery a couple days b4 the auction ended..

Harper's not just a great player. He's one of the faces of baseball where as Trammel/Raines/Murray/Evans never were at that level.. They were loved in their markets but Harper is used as the cover of many baseball card releases where his face is used on the cover art.

Whenever there's a National game of the week and Harper is there and they are interviewing a player during the game.. It's obviously going to be him they interview..

Plus with the shift being banned he's going to be one of the biggest beneficiaries of this. He learned to hit against the shift the last few years but he hits the ball really hard into the shift a lot and many of those are now hits. This will help the second half of his career immensely.

It's a shame that he's going to miss so much time this upcoming season as i think a third MVP will catapult him into another tier.

The universal DH is a full success. This has helped Bryce so much and will continue to help him next season.
