I've never regretted anything I sold because either it was the right move at the time or I made significant profits. I sold the entire Mahomes Optic rookie rainbow before everything took off. But it was cards I bought for under $100 and sold for $1000 or more. They're worth 10x that today but I don't regret any of the sales. Pigs get fat, hogs get slaughtered.

contenders prices are going nuts right now... what feels like an overpay right now could be a deal in two weeks...i just can’t help but think when the market is booming like this it tends to be the time to sell not buy...i know with luka you’ve basically never been hurt though buying at any price. is this the time the market has finally topped out?

It's impossible to time the peak/sell.

For the past couple of years, it's been incredibly easy to make a profit on singles and wax.

For those that have been in the hobby for awhile, there have been plenty of losses (I'm literally have my Nikoloz Tskitishvili Legacy Collection RC /100 right next to me as I write this).

Take the wins as they come.

On top of everything else - how much is market manipulation and how much is true value? eBay really needs to get their crap together with stuff like this - the fact that bidders can still bid with hundreds or thousands of bid retractions or unpaid item cases is unreal.

I agree that I don't think Luka prices will go down anytime soon and everything is safe at almost any price it just sucks that its so easy to manipulate.

wow, very nice!! Two weeks ago i missed one of the pwcc raw silver copies by $50, I think two ended up around 3700. I’m still in the market and now feeling like it would take 5 grand to get a raw silver copy.

agreed... some of the obviously manipulated sales are making it hard to do a deal as sellers are understandably trying to use those as comps. like the raw silver that went for 7100? can’t be real but the data point is out there.

Contenders Optic is a true rookie plus 1st year. Immaculate is a subset auto. I have 4x copies of the Immaculate Moments /99. I prefer Contenders Optic.

i don’t think there are any immaculate out there for 4k. only two i see are BIN at 7k. i’m sure you could negotiate a little. you could get the opulence but they all have that sick print line.

whoever got the psa 9 contenders blue /99 the other day for 8500 got a deal as crazy as that sounds.

When will Luka stuff become difficult to move? Will someone new just enter the market to lessen the demand for Luka or will his stuff just get so expensive people can't afford it? Combo of both?

His stuff may continue to rise in value, but at some point, there are only so many people willing and able to drop five or six figures on cardboard.

He’s got a few years... if by age 25 he doesn’t win a title the hobby will turn on him a little bit like they have Giannis. Back to back mvps in a non existent market yet people are down on him.

If he keeps putting up 30 point triple doubles he will continue as the great white hype...and i don’t mean that in a bad way. Short of injury it’s hard to imagine his stuff dropping unless there is a market wide correction.

I have a question for everyone here. I have a few Luka Mosaic RC's. A couple of the base, and then a red.

The reds rarely sell - I think there have been 2 or 3 raw sell in the last number of months? One got $986 at auction a month ago, but not to long before that sale one went for $500ish via BO.

How do the reds stack up value wise compared to the regular base?

Its hard for me to justify that price tbh. I was buying the PSA 9 silver auto for $1300 back in July. I paid $3.6k for the Blue /49 BGS 9.5/10. I bought the Blue /99 bgs 9 for $5.5k last month.

For me, the time to sell or trade my Luka contenders optic is when its prices reach the Kobe card I needed for my PC. Hopefully, Luka will have a great career with multiple rings.
