The Sandman has been pretty solid thus far. 5 episodes in & I'm enjoying the story.

Why bother reading reviews for something you are already watching and enjoying? Try thinking for yourself, instead of basically repeating
Daily Mail headlines here in the service of your own readily transparent agenda.

As for Chris Pratt, Hollywood actor, and star of the series, I like personally like him, but as much as he seems to enjoy playing these gung ho military types, maybe he oughtta give up pretend-time and just sign up for the armed forces already. He certainly has the training by now.

We watched the first 5 on Friday night and the final 5 on Saturday, and give it a big thumbs up. That's good news for the show, as while I'm a longtime comic reader (and read this series while it was being published), my wife has never read the comics at all, and I think she liked it even more than I did.

It has not yet been renewed for Season 2, but the producers say they're working on the next scripts anyway. If it is a success, this show could easily run 5 more years using the source material with the story taken to an actual conclusion in terms of the tale of this particular aspect of the Sandman. They've already done a great job of planting the seeds for several of the upcoming seasons, including the final one, if they are all indeed to be greenlit.

The 7 siblings are indeed Endless, but there have been different versions of some, if not all of them, throughout history, and the entirety of the 6+ years long Sandman comic series was basically the story of this version of the Sandman becoming the next version of the Sandman.

I'm not overly familiar with the source material, have just heard about it through passing, but is the version we're seeing the first version of the Sandman?

Like I said before, I've really enjoyed it as the story has been well crafted. The bout between he & Lucifer was fun to see play out.

Episode 5 with the diner was really good as well since we were able to see what the Ruby can truly do.

I know I'm a little behind, but just watched The Bear and really really enjoyed it.

Characters feel real and believable for their situations. I am definitely hoping to see a second season and beyond

Yes, what we're seeing is pretty much the only version of him depicted in the comics to date. I don't want to give too much away, but something Dream does puts him in jeopardy with "The Kindly Ones" (who have already been mentioned) that puts him in a far worse predicament than his imprisonment in Episode 1.

Between now and then, there are a couple of major stories including one with Lucifer called "Season of Mists" and another called "Brief Lives" which sends Dream on an adventure with an as yet unseen and unnamed member of the Endless. (This could be a star-making role for whoever is cast to play that character.)

Beyond that, there are several umbrella-type volumes from the original series that are comprised of single stories tailor made for one-and-done episodes including a pair with William Shakespeare and two standout classics called "The Dream of 1,000 Cats" and "Ramadan", the latter of which was as exquisitely illustrated as any other single issue of a monthly comic book ever has been.

Hopefully, five years or so from now, all of these stories (and more) will have been brought to live-action on this series. The Sandman comic series was basically 76 issues in length (plus two different 3-issue Death miniseries). So far, they've only mined the first 14 issues or so.

Watched 11.22.63 over the last couple of days. I ordered Hulu on Sunday just for Prey and noticed this was available. Read the book a couple of years ago and it became one of my favorite King books. The series is areally good adaptation. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Bingeing it this weekend.
I am not into the books or fantasy in general but a podcast I listen to made it sound really interesting and I'm always looking for something new to watch.

Obviously not a binge since it just premiered, and I didn't want to start a thread, but I watched the 1st episode of She Hulk. It was so meh. Marvel has totally lost its mojo. Pre pandemic everything they touched was gold.

Are we super heroed out? After the pandemic did we just move on to other things? Is it really this difficult to move forward post Endgame? Why is Marvel taking so long to get to the point? All questions I need answers to. I want to continue to love this franchise but they are really grinding my gears.

The South Park Coon Trilogy episodes were meant to be parody, but it's really not far from the truth anymore.

I've grown weary of having to figure out which TV shows I need to watch before going to see the next Marvel movie just so I won't be confused.

I’m really enjoying The Rehearsal on HBOMax. The first episode is a bit slow but it ends up getting really odd (in a funny way) around episode 2 and keeps getting more bizarre (and funnier) with each episode.

I'm 4 episodes in to The Bear on Hulu. It's about a renowned chef of a 5 star restaurant who moves back to Chicago to take over a corner deli type place after his brother's suicide. The acting of all involved is superb. It's really intriguing to me to see a chef who is used to routine and controlled chaos take over a mom and pop place staffed by common people just trying to make a living.

Sounds like a cool premise. May have to give this one a shot.

It's really quite good. A nice mix of comedy and drama.

Some of the performances are a little over the top but overall I highly recommend it. There is an absolutely hilarious scene involving 2 of the main characters arguing and then fighting because of a blow up hot dog that one of them is trying to put a t shirt on to promote their restaurant.

My favorite scene so far is the bread maker who is trying to branch out in to desserts for the restaurant. The scene begins with the intricacies of making donuts and ends with the finished product being carefully placed in the storefront. Our character oogles them with a child like wonder at the creations he sees. He doesn't want to eat them, he wants to make them just like that. There's something so pure about that scene that really resonated with me.

Marvel has run out of supers that hold nostalgic influence over our wallets.

It was absolutely amazing. I’m really hoping for a fourth season and beyond, but if that’s how it wraps up, I have no complaints.

Just started season 3 of Orville. Now that it’s on Hulu I can tell a difference in production and budget.

Definitely hitting on some serious topics on this show!

Wife and I just finished season 4 of Mayans. Meh. A lot of things have felt forced to me, but whatever. Mindless entertainment.

Finished Sandman, but it was really hard for me to do so. Dream's voice is annoying to the point of making me stop the episode for a few minutes. I really enjoyed all the other characters though, especially Boyd Holbrook as The Corinthian. He seemed to have a lot of fun with the role. I think I'd actually enjoy a spin-off of his character.

The Star Trek franchise is about as bad as it gets which is why it is so refreshing to see The Orville doing that sort of sci-fi correctly. The final episode of season 3 was so amazing in the fact that while watching you keep expecting and anticipating some event to happen yet they just let the episode play out without anything major happening and just allowing the viewer to enjoy the casual interactions of the crew.

Completed Umbrella Academy. The ONLY good thing in that 10 episodes of complete garbage was the soundtrack.

What a great book. The series was decent but took a lot of liberties with Bill's character. My favorite King book.
