I asked this question over on the BBall forum, but it's better to be asked here. What are everyone's thoughts on SRP/SLP? Is it worth the $99 a year?

Well, December 2020 officially my best month ever on COMC (most cards sold).
Thanks to anyone here who's bought from me! Hopefully processing speeds up so I'll have more inventory soon |

Nice - barring any major uptick in sales in the next 24 hours or so, this will be my third best month ever. November made the top 10 as well.
Really wish they could fix themselves to get processing back to speed (and allow for the old basic submissions) and get the shipping figured out.

Probably not. The original SRP was Beckett, but later on Beckett sued them and they had to come up with their own numbers. SRP is broadly useful in a relative sense. If you have 1,000 cards with SRP $2.50 priced at $2 each, and you have 1,000 other cards with SRP of $5 priced at $2 each, you will sell more of the $5 SRP cards at the end of one year. But there are wild variations. One card might sell quickly at 90% of book value, while another will sit and sit at 5% of book value. You can get a general sense of book value simply by ordering a search by highest percent off (which is actually the same as biggest discount). Cards with SRP will say "Get SRP". Cards without SRP will say N/A, and they would say N/A even if you subscribed to SRP. So if you see a card for $5, and other card for $5 and the next one is 10 cents, the 10 cent card is probably cheap relative to its SRP. It might still be a white elephant, though. The SRP is based on the price someone paid, including postage. So if someone pays extra for express shipping, or if they live overseas, the cards in the package might wind up with a high "book value" even if the buyer only paid 5 cents plus handling for them. OTOH, if you have a 1 of 1 graded 9.5 of a super star player which sells for $100,000, it might not have any "Book Value" because not enough copies of the card sold. There have also been instances where someone was transferring money between 2 different COMC accounts, and they sold a card to themselves for $300 and later on the card might wind up in a shipment and now it has a book value of $300 or whatever. This doesn't happen very much these days, since they have a 5% transaction fee and they charge $2 if you price a card above $100, but it might still happen from time to time. If you have a large account, you can pay $50 per month to upgrade it. This will enable you to price cards up to $2.50 without paying rent on them. With a free account, you pay rent on cards you have priced at 75 cents or more (in advanced reseller mode). A lot of people will upgrade if they have at least 5,000 cards priced between 76 cents and $2.50. If you upgrade your account, you get the BV prices included. So if you value SRP maybe you upgrade when you get to 4,000 cards or something. They will also let you see BV for any cards which you submit. If you're flipping cards and you get an offer, you can see the total BV for the offer. So if you really want to see BV on a card in your account, you could open a second account and make yourself an offer on that card. As an alternative to paying $99 per year, you could also use History Points. You can get these if you put new money into your account, or if you pay $10 per 1,000 (which is highway robbery), or if you do challenges (which I haven't seen available since about 2013). These are also not overly useful, as they only tell you the most expensive price someone paid in the history of the card. But they can be somewhat useful. If there are 10 copies in stock and 50 copies have shipped, it's better than if there are 50 copies in stock and only 10 copies have shipped. If the highest price ever paid is 93 cents, it's unlikely that you'll get $15. But, again, these are just generalities. I don't know whether you get SRP with History Points, but someone else might be able to chime in on this. |

Another way you can tell the SRP of a card you own: if you're in inventory manager and you try to price the card at 20% or less of SRP, you will be prompted "Click Save Price again to ask such a low price". So if you try to price at $1 and you get a prompt, but you don't get the prompt when you try to price at $1.01, then the SRP is $5.
Also, if you make an offer on a card which belongs to someone else, it will tell you the total SRP of the offer. So, if the offer only has one card in it, you can see the SRP. Last edited by checkoutmydeals; 12-31-2020 at 04:08 AM. |

Has anyone cashed out here recently? I did last week via PayPal and yet to get it yet. Curious what the timeline is currently.

Has anyone opened a case with BBB and did it make anything happen quicker in regards to shipping an order that was requested months Ago
My impression is that the Better Business Bureau hasn't been relevant in 50 years. But they might not have been relevant 50 years ago either. |

I've been asking for corrections on stuff like this the last two weeks and they seem to be ignoring it.

You want COMC's attention? Take it to social media. Google Reviews. Anyplace you can leave a comment. That will make them take notice.

And, remember that SRP was introduced *years* ago and they still consider it to be in a "Beta" state of production...it was a cash grab when it was introduced, it's a cash grab now, and it's not going to do you any good.

Current Year 3-Week Service seems to be running at around 3-months are longer now.
I have submissions due 10/29 and 11/13 - and both have not been started yet. These have 325 and 545 cards in them. Yet, a smaller (138 cards) Current Year 3-Week submission that was due 12/3 was completed on 12/17. So, maybe they are prioritizing smaller submissions? I will definitely be submitting at regular 3-Week guaranteed service going forward as that has been on-time, |

Been sending 3-5 cards to auction every week for like the past 2 months, some of these titles really let me down.
Made me notice there's no report button for auctions on the COMC site. Edit: their twitter told me to e-mail them, hopefully gets fixed

Yeah, you need to email auctions@comc.com to have them update the titles. They said a couple months ago that editing titles is "in the works" for eBay auction listings through COMC.

Yes, we have discussed that happening for months. Because of COVID rules, they have started processing some cards away from the main warehouse and they try to move them all back to the warehouse on a weekly basis once processed.

Hopefully they can fix it before it receives a bid. They mislabeled a few of my auction items and each time I contacted them they said there was nothing they could because once an item gets a bid eBay will not allow them to edit the listing.

Forgive me if this has been covered in a this lengthy ad enlightening post but this has now happened to me on three different occassions...
1. I buy a card on COMC 2. I send elect to sell the card thru COMC via eBay auction 3. Before the item lists as an eBay auction (but shows up in "my port" as awaiting its turn to run on eBay) a condition note is added. No note was included in the item when I bought it. First two times I just did what we all do with COMC...I sighed, figured its the cost of doing business and let the auction run (I lost $ on one of the 2 auctions) This time I emailed COMC to ask why this would happen? The response was basically that they look cards over in a different manor for "lower service levels", while auctions get scrutinized differently Basically there it was, plain as can be...they care more about their auction customers than they do their COMC customers. Frustrating |

Very new to COMC I have been submitting cards that I really dont care too much about that have been just taking up space and it has been working great, Now that I have cleared some space on the lower end I am looking at the higher end of my collection. I have a bunch of cards that I dont want to give away at auction but I would be willing to part with for the right price How does COMC do on higher end items in the $1,000-$15000 range. Is there a market on COMC for this and are they secure enough for it.

Silly question - to find PC Cards in my comc inventory, I look for $0.00 cards (as opposed to priced cards marked not for sale, those I’ll relist someday). Say I accidentally price a card I want for pc, is there a way to reprice for $0.00 and keep it not for sale?

Did anybody send in something for auction at the 1 week guaranteed and could report about actual turnaround time? Delayed or on time ?
