I remember being told that everyone was merely "playing for the opportunity to lose to Alabama."
Now Bama's out of the CFP. sipsipsip |

That was an incredible game for sure. I'm not happy with the outcome, but it will be nice to see some new teams in the playoffs this year.

Did I see that right? Was it the basketball or football teams playing: SMU beat Houston 77-63 in regulation!

Alabama has been out coached in the two losses. They should never left time on the clock against Tennessee. Tennessee is the big winner. With Clemson and Alabama losing, they will stay in the top 4 and have an easy path to the playoff.

If TN wins out and GA wins the SEC Championship...GA (obviously) and TN will be in the playoff. The Bama and the Clemson loss yesterday, cleared that path for TN.

Michigan’s best win is penn state @ home..ohio state has 2 “big” wins considering now a resurgent Notre dame at home and on the road at penn state .SOS is better ..The committee loves them some Ohio state

You're right. Either way, if they face Georgia, they will get absolutely destroyed.

The problem for Tennessee is that they will not play in a conference championship game, whereas there are likely to be TWO 1-loss conference champions who have (Clemson and whomever wins the Pac-12). The same problem will face whomever loses the OSU-Michigan game....i.e. they'll finish with 1 loss, but won't have had to play in a conference championship game. Someone else can do the research, but how often has the committee taken a 1-loss team that didn't play in a conference championship game over a 1-loss conference champion? |

Given that anOSU and UM play each other, that would mean all Oregon would likely need is to win out and have either TCU or Tennessee lose once to be in.
