I guess I missed that Luis Gil has to undergo Tommy John surgery.

I'm convinced the analytics nerds have convinced Boone/Cash that Andujar is not good for the team or the lineup, because it just doesn't make sense to roll out some of the players they have moved ahead of him.

I know he's not a Gold Glover defensively, but I don't think he's going to hurt us as much as Gallo's .150 batting average and zero productive outs. Or Hicks' terrible BA with RISP.

Glad to see Andujar getting the start in left.

Boone must have seen our constant complaints here.

Holy crap. Gleyber Torres remembered how to hit a home run against the Orioles.

It's totally Jim Palmer's fault because he brought up in the previous at bat how many at bats he has gone without homering against them.

It was nice to come back. Better to see Gleyber remember how to hit home runs.

Facts are, this team is in trouble at the moment. The bullpen is getting injured and is starting to crack.

The starters are getting injured or on COVID list and starting to crack.

When you can't crush the Orioles, like we did a week prior, something is wrong.

And if it wasn't for the bottom 3 having 6 hits with the tying and game winning hit coming from them, we would have surely lost. Judges double plays didn't help either.

Today's game will be interesting as we are starting a rookie, JP Sears. It shows how bad Deivi Garcia is struggling that they are handing the start to this guy.

This has been said a millions times by Yankees fans in the recent weeks, but Hicks needs to go. His stats are bad, duh, but his peripherals are that of a player that's clearly lost or hurt.

-He has of Barrel% of 1.2%. Which is bottom 2 percentile.
-He only makes solid contact 2.5% of the time.
-91.5% it's either he gets under, tops the ball, or hits a flare.
-Avg Exit Velo is 86.3 which is bottom 17 percentile.

Something needs to give. Yanks should do a phantom IL stint that allows him to rest and mentally reset. Get a 'rehab' assignment in where there is no pressure and he can focus on making adjustments. Either that or go all out for a CF at the trade deadline and reduce Hick's roll or cut him entirely. He can't be the go-to leadoff hitter when DJ is out. OBP be damned.

What CF is available for them to even go all out to get?

Bear with me.

Bryan Reynolds is conveniently have a down year as well. Not as bad as Hicks though. If there was ever an opportunity to get him, now would be the time.

Daulton Varsho, on the other hand, is having a breakout year and the DBacks could possibly be interested in capitalizing on that. It would take a lot to get him since he has a lot of team control left.

I'm glad Trevino got a card for last night. It might be his only card ever in a Yankees uniform.

Johnny Lasagna on the IL with shoulder discomfort. Bullpen has fallen apart in the blink of an eye.

Just in time for their 4 game series in Tampa, they might be hitting their rough patch.
