I’d love a series where the pitching staff didn’t rely on the offense to bail them out every single game. That’s not going to hold up in the playoffs.

5-1 Phillies in the 6th. Wright gave up 3 homers. Tonkin is going to see if he can beat that. Just 1 so far.

This team needed pitching. AA got minimal pitching and guys that were going to be cut.

Sure would have been nice to let Wright do his rehab starts in the minors instead of having to take that 5th spot. And I know they said he had a cortisone shot in the off season, but he's making things look like last season was a fluke, instead of a turning the corner. He's been bad all season

I think he’s somewhere in between
Not as bad as this year for sure
Not quite as good as last year
I do expect him to bounce back to a 13-15W innings eater next year at the minimum though

That's the impact of the new playoff format, doesn't matter if you've been the best team all year, its all about who gets hot at the right time. Baseball is very much like hockey now in the playoffs.

They scratched Darius Vines from his minor league start yesterday so my guess is that they planned to put Fried on the IL even before he pitched. So I don't think the blister is any worse than it was but they wanted to give him a couple weeks for it to heal before the NLDS.
