I was too. An unexpected occurrence.

I don't think so. Off the top of my head, I recall my Julio Franco was missing team logos, as well as my Liam Henriks portrait. I also think there have been a few catchers that have been portrayed without visible team logos amid all the hardware and padding.

Oh yeah....then there's my Yuli Gurriel, La Piña.

Angel's Buhner is nearly photographic! Even better than a photograph, in my opinion.

There was a lot of Buhner in my PC as a kid in the 90s.

I'm sure it won't happen to the MLB set, but any thoughts on Topps ending the Star Wars Living set next week? It's ending at 500.

Pure speculation on my part, but I think it was nixed due to license renewal disagreements with Disney and concerns over future outlook of potential subjects for the set.

MLB Living Set is a different beast. When Fanatics bought the exclusive rights to the MLB license, it was reported in some articles to be for 20 years. If correct, then there are no worries as to license disagreements ever being an issue that might cancel the MLB Living Set. Additionally, with new players entering the sport every year (and with the advent of non-players entering the set with Dusty Baker) there will be plenty of options each year to fulfill the 2-card per week schedule for the next 20 years.

Even better knowing that Topps will one day ramp up with the Negro League inclusions, which I hope is sooner than later.

I don't see a reason why Topps would ever stop the Living Set.

A quick google search tells me that 20,500 players have played in an MLB game. That's almost 200 years of players to include (not to mention there are always players who get repeated on new teams). Plus, I would guess 150-200 players make their debut every year so this set should definitely outlast me and I'm only in my late 30s!

I haven’t followed the Star Wars set but if they are ending it, I’ll guessing Segura has more Living set cards than all storm troopers combined.

Jared, I know we throw out a lot of suggestions for ballplayers, so I figure one more won’t hurt.

I’m reading Shoeless Joe at the moment, and while I don’t expect him to get a card anytime soon, I think adding Moonlight Graham to the set would be pretty cool.

The 35th anniversary of Field of Dreams is May 5, so I’m thinking a May 1 card release of Graham, so it’s for sale the day of the movie’s anniversary, would be a nice touch.

Not sure what it would take to make that happen in less than 2 months, but thought you might enjoy the idea.

I love this idea. Moonlight Graham is #23 on my wish list. Joe Jackson is #35. I will let the Living Set team know about this timing. Hopefully a miracle can happen and the licensing department can get things approved before May 1st. Thanks for the idea!

Not to sound like a brown-noser, but seeing your artwork side by side (by side by side) without any borders makes it look even more beautiful. You are very, very good at what you do.

By all means, brown-nose all you want. I really appreciate the kind words. I love working on this set.

I think you were right about the print run being affected by the card release during Spring Training. No way to know for sure, but I wouldn’t be surprised.

I mean in the time this card was offered, I bought his S1 card for $2.50 and the next day he cracked a 470 foot homer and they shot up to like $9 a piece ... so I was also thinking that might make the number higher but ... yeah I was off by more than double so ...

Who knows, maybe he isn't the talent I think he is?

I am aware of the issues on my website at checkout. Apologies for the inconvenience. I'm in contact with my web host and I hope to have it resolved soon.

I will extend the pre-order deadline for my artist-signed Andrew Abbott print accordingly.

Thanks for your patience.

Spoilers about upcoming players shown on Jared's site ahead. I'll try and hide the spoilery parts with white text (highlight to see it), but stop now if you want to be surprised each Wednesday.

Last chance.

Okay, here we go then. I see that Kent Tekulve will be making an appearance soon, which is fantastic. It would be even more fantastic if he was paired with Dan Quisenberry, since Tekulve taught Quisenberry the submarine pitching motion.
