Not trolling, just asking if this is the consensus temperament of Trout collectors.

I've watched numerous Trout slumps, including this one. I am still watching every Angels game

A sad tale of slab caution. I’ve crossed over quite a few true gem BGS cards to PSA 10s.

A Couple months ago I picked up a true gem trout cognac and it’s been a rocky road since. It looked great so I sent it to PSA in the slab minimum grade 10. They sent it back. I waited a bit and thought I’d try my luck again. No dice, came back ungraded. Well I read some forums and convinced myself I needed to crack it out, that’ll get em. Submitted it raw. Came back a 9. ‘But grading is so subjective, it couldn’t just be a bad day for the grader!’ They said. So I sent it in through a group sub, to try and get that “preferred customer treatment”. Came back a 9. “Damn, PSA is so tough on these trouts, surely SGC with give it a 10 and that’ll be fine for my PC.” I thought. Nope. So, alas, I send it back to BGS and even included the original label with the 4 9.5s and a note saying ‘hey this card was cracked out but this was the original label, wanted to send it so you can take it out the pop count’ with just the smaller sliver of hope they’d see that and I could get my true gem back. Nope, the cognac came back 9.5 with 9 centering. Wasted about 700 bucks, a few months and ended up with a card graded lower than I started with.

Card Grading, you fickle S.O.B.

I as a baseball fan, second this. But I also accept that for the vast majority of sports fans or even non-sports fans(have buddies only watching certain sports in their play offs or championship games), ring does matter.

He'd have to agree to leave. Meaning he'd have to change his mind about the team and it's direction and feel comfortable leaving or they'd just have to do something to force him to leave. I don't see him leaving.
Because they're terrible..

1-4 with a BB in game two. Now the Angels get two days off before playing at home on Friday. I feel pretty confident that Trout will be back to his old self by Saturday

As a lifelong Angels fan, I must agree with this sentiment. I literally would rather go 0-162 and keep Trout. Am I crazy, yes. Am I being sarcastic? NO.

Lets face it, the new playoff format will prob continue because $$$. They only need a few pitchers (yes something they've been incapable of getting for 20 years, but still) to make the playoffs.

I hurt when I read your post. It's the worst feeling to click on 'grades available' and see a 9. After going through what I've been through (and you too), i would never crack a BGS slab graded in last 3 years and and expect it to cross. The standards have gotten so low low for BGS over the last few years and PSA has continued to raise it's standard on US175s of any variant. Sure PSA sucks at catching trimmed cards but they are hard on US175s and iconic cards. Gotta protect the that premium!

Trout is looking for HR pitches which is low in the strike zone for him.
Pitchers that figured that out are throwing high strike zone pitches that he just watches go by.
Hard to catch up to a high strike if your wound up looking for your pitch low in the zone.

4/19/2016 - 14 games into the season, Trout is hitting .220. People had to be freaking out on the boards.

Would not worry in a full season but they are 32 games into a 60 game season.
Most know now that he will not be MVP this year and that is what they counted on.

All awards are bogus this year, no matter who wins them. That includes Trout.

OMG... i remember this...surprisingly, people were not freaking out in 2016 the way they are freaking out now. In 2016, yea it sucked but the sky wasn't falling

People need to sell Trout now and sell for cheap. His past 10 games have been horrible which can only mean his next 30 will follow the same trend. I'd be dumping my 2011 Topps updates for $1000 If I were you guys. If you are dumping I might now a buyer to help you out!

On a side note Mike Trout has reached base 23/27 games and none have been consecutive. If only the Angels had any pitching.

I think part of the freaking out is in relation to his current price too. People were probably less worried about a $300 card compared to a $3000 card, I just hope I can scoop up some on the dip

Newest arrival, I picked up a few foils recently. I love the look of them and they are inexpensive.

I actually just picked up a 2020 Opening Day red foil and blue foil today. I'm excited to see what they look like in hand
