Yeah, agreed, like watching almost anyone in pinstripes at this point. But 1 run in 5 innings, and pitching out of a few jams... that ain't bad.

Yeah he's getting closer to what we expected.

Will the bullpen keep this lead?

And the Orioles and Ray both lose, but of course Boston wins its third in a row. What a crazy division.

We got 3 against Baltimore. Then 3 against Tampa. Then 4 against Houston.

This stretch will either make or break the Yankees. Need Judge back asap.

He will be back for the start of this stretch... how well he performs we will need to see. I wish the trade deadline was after this full stretch and not at the end of the first series.

I'd love to see this play out like the Braves in 2021 where they were buyers (when most people thought they shouldn't be) with Acuna out for the year and them 5 or 6 games back in the NL East and I believe not even at a .500 record? Granted the 2023 AL East =/= 2021 NL East, but with a nice run we are firmly in control of a Wild Card spot and the Phillies last year are a good example of just getting in and being hot at the right time.

At a minimum, the Yankees need to not allow the Angels to leap frog them into a Wild Card spot. I want to see the Angels pay for not trading Ohtani by missing the playoffs, and then him walking.

Seems rather petty. God forbid a team actually goes for it rather than hold on to the dream of prospects. I can think of a team that holds on to its prospects far too long to the point where they have no value and aren't good enough to make the team.

He's not going anywhere. He didnt care about going to a winner in 2017 and he doesn't care about going to a winner in 2023. Maybe in a few more years.

Yea I see no reason to give up on the season. And you gave a great example. The Braves. They looked dead in the water. And when Acuna went down. That was supposed to be the nail in the coffin. And look what they did. And yes they may be an extreme outlier.

But we know this team is about 5 games better with a healthy Judge. So we are likely 11 to 12 games above .500 with Judge. I think that's fair.

Now you look past the awful first half for our hitters and you realize it can only get better. You can't hit any worse. No way Rizzo and D.J keep slumping.

Then you add some bats. Nothing insane. But it's a must WE ADD BELLINGER Former MVP that played in a major market. So he can handle NY. He has regained his form. He's figured out how to crush leftys again. You do not pass that up. I don't give a damn about prospects. I'm sick of hugging prospects. They aren't a sure thing.

Add Bellinger. Add another bat. Add a catcher. Keep Judge and Stanton healthy. And let's run it.

You actually think the Angels are going to win anything?

I don't think he's signing a shorter contract than 10 years, so there will be no more contracts for him.

I think they can get a wild card. I forgot you're the one that has an abnormal hatred for Ohtani.

I think if the Angels got pitching they could make a run. Especially if Trout is healthy. Why would anyone count anyone out?

The #@#@#@#@ing Orioles lead the AL East. Who the hell saw that coming? They don't even have a good pitching staff. But their prospects are just money so far. And everybody hits for them.

If that happens I think it will be someplace in the west. LA, San Diego, SF, Seattle, maybe even Arizona. Someplace closer to the west coast......and where the pressure is low.

they seem to be doing okay today...........

at end of today Angels will be 54-49, Yankees are 54-48

I don't think we should be acting like we are lightyears ahead of them

Angels are 4th in MLB in OPS, Yankees are 23rd. Angels are 7th in runs scored, Yankees are 21st

Yankees are 9th in ERA, Angels are 20th, but the Angels have more Quality Starts than NY.

The Yankees bullpen has been so strong, it's really carrying the pitching staff. If Giolito makes a difference for their pitchers going forward, who doesn't think the Angels should move ahead of us

I have no hatred for the man. Don't be a moron Ohtani fan boy.

I just don't think on his 6th year in the league, he's the GOAT nor do I belive he was more valuable than Judge last year. That means, just like political crap, I must be a hater to them. I mean, the "supposed GOAT" finally threw his 1st complete game of his career this year.

I cringe when I hear Babe Ruth and Ohtani in the same sentence so maybe I'm a hater too.

I'm over it. After days like today, they belong in the same sentence.
