It was purchased raw September 2016.
Sold altered February 2017.

6 months has passed.

It would be interesting to know who purchased it raw in 2016. I’d assume that it wasn’t sold in September 2016 already altered, because what would be the point? Generally speaking, you alter a card so that it will grade better.

I think the card technically gets a BGS 0.0, so no, it doesn't show up in population reports. You can however look up the BGS serial number;

I have nothing against 27guy. He should have posted all information he was given 3 weeks ago. Something is not right there, but doesn't really matter because the information has now been shared.

He’s been posting cards on Instagram today ha. It is kind of amazing though for someone as active and “transparent” as him to not step up and admit his fault in this situation. It’s just crazy how far he stuck his neck out for bnc all while having evidence that would implicate bnc. I thinks he knows his wholesome “gee shucks golly this hobby is fun and I’m fighting to keep it pure” thing is up here. Everybody makes mistakes. He does pump BNC pretty hard in that thread too. Is he a misguided fool who was duped by BNC?

As I read that thread I was thinking no. As innocent as he sounds, he definitely knew what he was doing in the Lavine thread (pumping and dumping) Just as he knew he was with holding critical information on an incredibly expensive card in this thread which would have quickly cleared things up. Now his reputation is ruined.

And I agree with your other statement regarding BNC. The scum of the earth.

Just caught up. So i just want to say this. I think we're getting a little off track here. The whole casting The27Guy as a villain is a bit over the top. He screwed up. He was wrong. He put his faith in people he probably shouldn't have. We all have moments when we stick up for family or friends blindly - i believe that's what he did. But, focusing on that get's away from the real issue here:

BNC and the trimmed cards. Did he trim? Does he have a working relationship with someone who "cleans" cards? We know he owns the altered cards. We know he sells altered cards. We know he's likely not going to stop selling them. I think finding out if we can who actually altered them is the most important issue at hand and it'll likely bring into doubt a whole host of other cards when/if we do find this out.

While I don't agree with you on 27guy (I think he knew what was going on) I do agree BNC is not getting the rage he should. (maybe the high end collectors/investors aligned with BNC are protecting themselves? No idea) But this thread is just getting warmed up. I have faith that the BODA will eventually find out the "trimmer/s" as well as those connected.
