KD with a cool 39/11 and +18 vs the Lakers.

Suns gonna be really good with Booker and Beal returning.

wasn't your guy and the bearded one like all of 21 points in game 7, negative BPM or thereabouts for the series even?

what's "valuable" about that, clown-boy?

I really, really wouldn't be impressed yet. And Embiid didn't even play well other than stuffing Giannis at the rim. Twice.
why do you troll my thread repeatedly like this when you know that embiid is a playoff choker, and Jokic the "michelin man fatboy" you bash and hate is a winner and finals mvp

The 2023-24 season I guess might not technically include the '24 Playoff season, the second and real season, but let's not forget that embiid's career playoff BPM minus regular season BPM is an outlier at minus-3, most legends are clustered around plus one.

embiid is fool's gold, a regular season "mvp" who gives you 13 points or so in game 7 when it counts the most.

minus-3 ffs

also didn't philly boy wisely bet against his own team/guy in the last game 7? couldn't count on the Beard to bail them out after all (he had some kind of vendetta to prove with Morey, who knows?)

they don't seem to be able to get past the 2nd round of playoffs no matter what. one time it's kawhi with the dagger. another it's simmons melting down (passing up a dunk, at least he could have airballed it from 3ft), then it's the always-unreliable playoff fool's gold of embiid and then the same with harden thrown into the mix. they seem destined to be a mid-rank team as the playoffs go. Bucks and Celtics have the East locked down short of some double meltdown of their own, no?

they seem good for about 54 regular season wins and 3rd seeding in the East, over and over and over again marshawn-lynch-run-through-mf-face.gif

60 regular season wins won't mean jack come playoff time, remember the 67-15 mavericks getting ousted in the 1st round lol?

why did they win by only one point when the Sixers are depleted of Beard (oh my, such scary regular-season-wise, when he's trying, etc.)?

maybe it has something to do with sample size and statistical significance. let's check back in June, i'll be here till then regardless

Surely they will return. But by then it will be KD's time to rest. And so on...

remember that philly boy keeps wanting to say "the mvp" even though we all know that troel stole the mvp from jokic, and also jokic performs in the playoffs when the pressure's on (he's reigning Finals MVP) whereas embiid reliably chokes to the tune of minus-3 Playoff-vs-RS-BPM (there's gotta be a way to shorten that one down to represent playoff/clutch production, where it really counts. Mr. Russell 11, MJ 6.)

So now that we're past opening night and players are already abusing the whole resting policy, no point to tuning in until what April?

all the "emvpiid" ever did against jokic was score 47 on him in one regular season game, then no-show in the other game due to his usual availability problems, and then of course a no-show in the playoffs/finals where jokic destroyed the team that beat the team that beat the choke specialists embiid/sixers

Looks like things are going swimmingly with Darvin Ham and LeBron 2 games into the season!

June. They’ll sit out the early rounds too.

the resting policy will certainly open the doors for new GOATS, because no player that lasts in the hobby would surely take advantage of such a system.

I don't know how they ever get around the resting issue. There's no way to prove if an injury is real or not unless they want to institute an IL or IR so if you miss 1 game you have to miss multiple, but in the nba they can always claim a nagging injury.

The answer is to incentivise playing, not regulate the problem away. They gotta come up with a way to make the regular season matter. Tie it to the team's share of the pie somehow, or to their cap/tax threshold.

The NBA can probe if they really want to into a teams medicals. I'm more curious on seeing the NBA data that resting doesn't matter.

If you have info why aren't you sharing? That's on both sides really.

Giannis just signed a $63M/y extension. No amount of money the league could incentive him with would get him to stop resting.

It comes down to the fact that the players don't care, they get paid anyway, and they take no pride in actually showing up for the fans that pay their salaries.

This.

These guys get pretty much guaranteed deals, worth hundreds of millions, there's nothing that can incentivize them to not rest, especially when they believe that resting improves their longevity and earning potential.
