Damn! That Target used to be cleared out constantly. I even took a picture and posted it a few years back of some middle aged dude weighing packs there.

But yeah so cal has been an overall wasteland for a few years. The Target in Torrance on Sepulveda has had only low end stuff for a very long time, or nothing at all, the one at the Galleria in RB is mostly the same, the one in Gardena did have product…its where I found a plethora of 2018 chrome update…until I posted about it here and since then their card shelves have been bare. The ones in Carson on Sepulveda (lots of 2019 chrome update) and the San Pedro one were fantastic for a while, but no longer. I’d doubt at this point that even the hood targets in Inglewood and Compton have anything.

Doesn’t matter really, I stopped buying retail(except this years Fire hobby boxes) a few years ago.

what does "prizm NBA doesnt move" mean?

if you mean, it doesnt get bought up within an hour by 10 people waiting in line at initial stock? sure

but its still being purchased, just maybe a little slower. Its not like i can wait 5 days after stock hits and expect to still find all the megas and blasters on shelf

this is true. The first guy who falls on the stock doesn’t roll $2k worth of product to the check-stand and put it on ebay from the car anymore, but it tends to sell out by the time the vendor comes back a week later. my stores are still wiped out within 48 hours of the stock at most.

The guys who could never find product before are now actually finding it and they are still buying because it’s a novel thing to them.

Walmarts are a little different story because most of the stores that don’t keep the product locked up somehow have an amazingly high theft rate. The shelf’s at those stores are mostly bare because even the crap like wild card is getting stolen. The stores that keep it locked up always have something in stock, even if the most coveted product is gone.

I’ve seen Optic and Prizm BKB sitting on shelves here for weeks. 20+ blasters each.

Comparatively that’s not moving.

I am a vendor for Excell. I service each of my Targets weekly. Just about every trading card product sells out by the time I return the following week. The exceptions are the junk like hockey, WNBA, and the really bad stuff.

Any Topps baseball product and ANY football or basketball will be gone in a week 100% of the time. Even the bad football like Sage and the draft pick crap sells. Optic and Prizm? Zero chance those don’t sell around here. It isn’t like it was a year or two ago where there is 50 people in line but the stuff sells within a few days. This is the way it’s supposed to work.

Same thing where I live.

Just because some areas are still getting cleared does not mean all areas are.

This made me think of a guy I saw on Twitter who looked like he was in bad shape trying to flip retail. Previous week was filled with posts trying to get $105 for a Prizm 21-22 BKB blaster + a 21 Chronic FB Blaster. Currently that would be $45-$50 plus shipping on ebay.

Now was "desparate" and was only doing price by DM, but requiring people to buy 1 21 chronic football Blaster with any optic/prizm BKB Blaster.

Kind of sounded like he loaded up expecting last year's prices for both, and everything is available at/below retail still.

I understand each city/state is different. However, Target has the luxury of moving stuff weekly because they are priced the cheapest. Everyone knows that. Plus you add in all the discounts and you saving 20-30% from buying at Walmart alone. If product is going to move Target is first. On the other hand you have a store like Meijers in the Midwest. $40 Blasters aren't moving with no discounts. Its all about the price point.

HobbyLegends on ebay was running his 10 caser Player break auctions ending last night and i tried to win a few players that werent crazy monies like Nick Plummer or Max Scherzer

when i got clearly sniped on Scherzer auction ( i bid $24 when 4 seconds left, only for a bid at $24.50 to magically come in a second after), i looked at the bid history and surprise surprise, clear shilling going on

found multiple auctions with (0) feedbackers and 100% bid activity with seller

i won't ever give them business again

It’s been hanging around here. Both Target and WM.

Optic BKB especially. I bet I could get some from a stock 2+ weeks ago right now if I wanted.

All the retailers I frequent (Wal-Mart, Target, Barnes) have a ton of Prizm and Optic basketball. I'm talking dozens of blasters, megas, or hanger packs each time I pop in.

However, I don't collect basketball and can't find Topps Update anywhere. Its like opposite day over here. A year ago none of these big basketball releases would stay on the shelves for more than a few hours. Now I could literally bankrupt myself buying prizm and optic basketball if I chose to. Hopefully I can find some update hangers to go SP hunting.

I collect both, and it’s like you describe for me here also, in the ‘Burbs of Baltimore. It’s a market condition I don’t see that often -

weak Bk Rookie Class that’s grossly overproduced relative to demand, combined with a super hot baseball rookie - and both hit the shelves at about the same time.

Next year it should be back to normal ( whatever that is ) with the BK products featuring the French Dude super-rookie

Crazy enough, alot of the product here (San dieg) does move, I would say during the course of the week. Almost all the Basketball sells except for Chronicesl, draft Prizm and illusions.

All the Prizm BK, Optic BK sells out. All the Topps update sells out and eventually all the Topps chrome BB sells out. Soccer sells out, except for the ATTAX. Even the NSWSL sells out eventually.

Pokemon sells out much faster though for sure.

Well, in my area neither Walmart nor Target are getting cleaned out... they both have plenty of Sports cards sitting on the shelves.

I regularly go to 4 local Target stores and there still is rarely anything on the shelves. I went yesterday and there were a few packs of Chronicles baseball and some UD Hockey blasters and that's it. I was in Florida last week and went to a Target there and shelves were overflowing with cards. They had at least 20 different blasters and about 10 packs/jumbo packs. I don't know if that's a difference in allotment to stores, local economy, or local interest in cards but I was shocked at the difference

At some Wal-marts 18-19 Prizm basketball was on shelves into September and October of 2019.

Same here in Baltimore. I haven't seen anything chrome or like that at a Target in years. I also don't check too often, but there are 3 Targets near me and my work route that I usually check once a week.

Once in a while there is some stuff at the Walmart. But most of the time there is nobody working in the cigarette aisle with the cards are and I am not waiting in one of the other lines for 15 minutes to ask them to walk over and get me some Topps.

It seems like it varies across the Country. But people basing the overall situation based of their current town, is not the full view of things.

Reminds me of the guy posting about all the stuff at his store, but he rarely mentioned he is not in the USA haha.
