Don't be one of the countless many who regret selling their TB rookie.

His cards are like Apple stock. Don't do it. I mean it's yours but I wouldn't do it.

So...cards that were undervalued, then took off due to bidding inflation/manipulation, and have now cooled off and lost half their value in the past 6 months?

If you need 5 K or so, sell it. If you want the best football card of the modern era, keep it.

Sell sell sell. Although be prepared for returns if the Pats don't win the SB.

wouldn't this one have more draw b/c is has no sub grades below 9? last I looked, it was a little less then half that have been graded 9 having all subs 9 and up. I believe many call this a true mint 9? I know when i picked this up that's what draw me to it.

Very true, maybe it can get 6-10, I've only seen BINs lately so not sure what the exact potential is. I grabbed a 9 with one 8.5 for 5 recently.

If there is one card that is immune to the "norm" with regards to returns, its this one.
I am willing to bet that his cards dont experience a tumble at all, superbowl or not.

the only buyers now at current prices are the ones certain of a Patriots superbowl victory...otherwise it's a money loser

Time will tell , but it is a sure thing over time. It is the card to have from the last 25 years along with Peyton Contenders I would think.

I don't see the prices going down. if you know the back story behind the card and who it is. There's many factors that play into it.

- The Contenders name
- The only on card RC auto in his Pats uniform
- Condition sensitive
- Very few gem copies
- Only 3000 produced (am I correct about this?)
- Wasnt heavily collected for the first year or so AFTER the release, so many ended up damaged, destroyed
- Is now the GOAT

Half of that maybe. No way there was 3000 unless there's 2,500 still out there lurking ungraded. Possible but highly unlikely imo.

Someone did the math somewhere (based on psa and bgs #s compared to sp authentic and the known 1,250 number) and a safe number for Brady contenders are 1,200-1,500

That number is burned into my memory, as I thought I read it somewhere.
Ive mentioned it before, I just dont remember where in the hell I read it.

Probably better that theres less, as it makes our cards all the more valuable.

Yeah that was me and i don't remember what thread it was in either. Basically there's been 700 graded between PSA and BGS...and you know that probably a good handful have been regraded.

The SP Authentic there's been 1300 graded.

I dunno you guys can do the math and take those numbers for what they're worth. To me it shows a fairly compelling argument for a low contenders print run.

cant compare Brady contenders with Manning.
Easy to find high grade mint Brady - Manning is impossible. I think
there are only 2 copies that are BGS 9/10 or higher. Everything else is worse

I'd easily trade 5 Brady for one Manning BGS 9/10
