Nope. Kp is a great talent, but i dont feel that he fits what boston is really trying to do. I just dont think he is fast enough to keep up with golden state. Thats who we are ultimately building a team to try and beat. I just dont think he puts us over the top like paul george does

Eh; I wouldn't put much into the video. AD has an identical one from 2012. Supposedly he's a stron isolation scorer. Could compliment Jaylen well if he pans out. Interesting pick.

Could Tatum be a good small ball 4?

I absolutely love the Tatum pick and trading the #1 pick deal -- I have always wanted Boston to escalate their timeline, and start trading for a star or two, but I really believe in Danny Ainge and trust in what he is doing. I think a few years from now Tatum may end up the best player in this draft, and now they get a top pick either next year or in 2019 to go along w/ their many other #1 picks. Seems like they could have acquired Butler, but still feel they want Hayward and will get him.
It is hard to be patient, but through many conversations I have realized too that Golden State / Cavs still are the teams to beat here for a few years - so build the next super team through the draft, and add a few pieces as able. I liked the Jaylen Brown pick last year, and love the Tatum pick this year. Next year they will have the flexibility to add a top guard w/ the picks they are likely to have. Who knows, might still be a deal in the works for Paul George or add a Griffin or Hayward - should be interesting, and Boston should compete once again. Just glad they made the trade and got Tatum and a future high first round pick - very smart trade! |

Just chiming in as a Duke fan and a Cavs fan.
I really am glad to see Tatum go to you. I think he is a great kid with an O game that Stevens is going to do wonders with. I really dont like the Celtics but Im glad hes going to a good organization and get to watch him. He has MVP potential. Im really happy for him he didnt go to the Kings because it would have killed his career before it started. Hoping Lebron can stop you guys for a few more years, because Tatum wont be able to be stopped

If the Celtics goal is to beat the Warriors, the question becomes:
How do you hide Thomas on defense? Because he isn't going to be able to guard Curry or Klay 1-on-1 given how small he is. So unless Brad Stevens figures out the answer to that question by next spring, the Celtics have no hope of stopping the Warriors offense no matter what other personnel moves they make. |

But even against the Cavs offense, where do you hide Thomas? He's going to be a defensive liability even against average guards (like JR Smith, for example). |

The feedback I'm seeing online is that Tatum plays bigger. A big 3/small 4. More isolation. Brown is a 2/3 and plays off the screen more. More swing passes and ball movement. Runs the floor well too. I think they should compliment each other well in Brad's system.
