I am not trying to stir anything up either, but as soon as I saw the non-auto'd Purple Scope card and how it was photographed, I had to post it.

My question to Panini on this would be. Why not go after the initial people who took the cards? Panini's blanket statement on the letter I received about my autopen says some of the Prescott cards were still unacconted for... We are talking about potentially thousands of dollars in cards. One would think they would care more about the sudden flood of these that have popped up. Are these NOT stolen merchandise? Shouldnt the person(s) who took these INITIALLY not be prosecuted. I understand that for years executive proofs and such have made there way to the open market. But this was not a small story and blatantly theft on the person who took these INITIALLY. These are not just a few random cards that someone took not intended for the open market. I can only hope that Panini is doing an internal investigation on this. Maybe Bedler can ask his "contact" if Panini is doing anything about this.

Normally I dont get this upset about things related to cards but this Panini situation has touched a serious nerve.

Thus they used the sticker on the back of the legitimate cards. It saves the trouble of tracking down the real ones, who knows which layer of handling of these unsigned cards decided to pilfer them.

UD had this problem in 2011 with Kaepernick's SPA RPA's The real ones didn't have rainbow foil on them and were available on eBay without signatures (from someone in Southern California by my recollection), the replacement cards they made did have rainbow foil on the letters and around the patch window.

UD was never this proactive about it, they just made slightly different cards and kept chugging along.

If Dak has three great years in a row and his cards skyrocket even more I bet many of these unsigned cards will be forged with a fake sticker. I would never put it past people's greed to try and be deceptive. At some point you will see it from someone who gets their hands on any of these unsigned cards. The only discrepancy between the legit ones and the unsigned ones is the sticker which with today's innovation does not seem like an impossible feat to forge.

Bedler stated early on in this thread, (which I believe he edited now) that he was going to have Dak sign the backdoor Golds in person. And he did change his tune from they were a collectors piece for him, to now he plans on selling them. Imagine if he did that and sold the Golds to someone who was able to forge the sticker..... A legit In person auto, on a card that is legit in every way including the "this autograph is certified by panini on the back", with a forged sticker..... What a fricking mess.

I have not seen the unsigned cards so maybe Panini changed something else on the back of the new cards other than the sticker to decipher the BS from the new ones. If not this is only the beginning of a major problem down the road. I imagine in three years I will come back to this thread and just shake my head.
