The 2 Walmart’s near me stocked around 55 Topps Chrome
Hangers last Thursday and Friday. There are somehow 33 on the shelves now. Which begs the question, who bought 20+ hangers of Topps Chrome at $27? Or what 20 people bought 1 hanger of Topps Chrome at $27? Also tons of hockey, WNBA Prizm, complete sets, and Prizm baseball blasters left.

I know it's nothing new, but I don't check WM anymore for cards unless I have to come and so today when I stopped by, I actually saw product and just crazy to see the jacked up prices. $27 for a Hanger of Topps Chrome?! $35 for unlicensed Baseball Prizm and WNBA?! I saw WNBA Prizm Blasters selling for $20-$22 on Ebay. How is this stuff going to move at these prices?! I don't even think today was the regular stock day unless things have change, so no telling how long they've been sitting here

Topps Chrome MSRP just seems to have risen to >$1 per card in the package now. I can’t remember it having box hangers before this year but Topps did announce that they couldn’t make hanging cello/fat/jumbo/rack packs after problems during production of Heritage and maybe S1 also; they haven’t been seen since.

I think last year I paid $14 for 16 cards (12 + 4 pinks) in the cello wrapped pack (Meijer’s) and this year they had 32 card blasters for $35.

People have been more than happy to pay jacked up prices on Ebay. I don't see why they wouldn't at Walmart.

Sure..on desirable products...WNBA Prizm sells for way less on the secondary market than the prices at WM. I'm sure Unlicensed Baseball Prizm is the same

It's not. And the sad thing is it is going to begin to clog the pipeline for some of the better stuff as I am sure the vendors won't put stuff out until some of that crap moves. Going to be interesting with Optic, Prizm NFL and other higher demand stuff coming soon.

But I almost threw up when I saw a 100 prizm baseball blasters today at one walmart.

My local Walmart is going through a remodel, it’s a mess, but the cards are back on the floor now without limits for the time being, just have to be lucky to get something besides hockey, factory sets or topps chrome

Went to my old WM tonight, figured supplies were worth a look.

Nothing out for cards and no signs.

On my way out, saw someone standing by a cart by cigarette register and it looked like he had cards in hand. Sure enough, card scraps there in cart.

He grabs his two item allotment, Prizm baseball, goes to register.

(Beep)

“Wait, they’re how much?”

I think he kept them anyway.

Went to my Walmart and it took 2 weeks but 30 Chrome hangers finally all sold. Also they have stopped the 2 per customer limit. Only thing they had was a few prizm blasters and 3 or 4 different kinds of hockey.

This week my daughter is on quarantine from school due to exposure so I have to go by our Walmart before it opens to take her to my mothers and figured I’d check it out today. 6 people waiting for the store to open with me, vendor was stocking when we were let in. This weeks stock was a tray of donruss fat’s, a tray of donruss hangers, a tray of select hangers and another tray of topps chrome hangers. Managed to get 3 donruss fat packs, 3 donruss hangers and 3 select hangers. For a store with no limits in place it was fairly civil. One guy did take well more than an even split but anytime I can buy something I want to open for retail price it is a win.
