Lol. Suns.

It's amazing that all these years later, the only real sure thing I can see in the West is the Warriors.

The Lakers and Clippers *could* be good, but too much of wildcards for me.

Nuggets and Mavericks both have a superstar, but not enough else to get my excited.

Twolves and Memphis both a lot of young talent, but I just need to see it before I believe.

Going to be a fun season to see how it plays out.

Not surprising. The team chemistry must be awful after the way their season ended and Ayton not wanting to be there. Probably already toxic.

This should be known, but it is worth repeating....Tyler Herro is such a choad. Tweeting Bugs Bunny counting bills after signing his contract extension. Most players would probably thank the organization, fans, family, etc.

I don't blame him.

I do think it's crazy Miami is gonna be paying almost 80M for the next 2 years for 3 guys who won't even sniff an ASG. And speaking of Herro, now the market for a non ASG player is 30M? Crazy times.

I get that they "had" to sign him - either now or later. You don't let an asset have a chance to walk if you can help it. So now makes sense if for nothing else - goodwill with the player and agent.

But man. That's a lot of cap to swallow for the type of player he is.

I don't think it's a terrible signing for the market.

It's just crazy to me that the market tells you that 30+ long term for someone who won't be an All-Star is fine. They might even get an asset out of that contract if he gets traded.

He's 22 and averaged 21/5/4 last year. Silly to say he won't be an All-Star.

Maybe one day, but:
-Haliburton
-Garland
-Maxey
-D Murray
-Lamelo
-Van Vleet
-Cade Cunningham
-Kyrie
-Lavine
-Holiday
-Donovan Mitchell
-Jaylon Brown
-Bradley Beal
-Trae Young
-James Harden

That's a lot of competition for All star spots in the East.

This is the byproduct of the upcoming likely 170 million cap. Tyrese Maxey is getting a max next year. De'Andre Hunter is likely getting 18 to 20 plus a year.

Haha I hope this is sarcastic as he definitely didn't grow up in the hood. The way he talks (take it from another white boy that grew up in the same 'burbs as Herro did), dresses, and acts may make one think so. It all seems (is) so fake.

Yea, I'm jk

He has a younger brother who I came across at some point on Youtube who talks and acts the same but at like 12 years old and 110 LBs soaking wet

They seem like real upstanding individuals

Yeah. Sure, he's got a chance, but the most probable outcome is that he doesn't become one during his contract. And that's without including all the players coming out in the next 2-3 years.

Where did you read 170? That's insane.

Are we getting close to the era where role players make more than anyone in US major sports but quarterbacks?

Sure, but to outright say he's not going to be an all-star when he had those numbers at 22 is foolish. I would definitely put him on the list of guys you mentioned. He's definitely that tier.

KAT apparently has mono or possibly pneumonia - guess he'll be slimming down even further now to play the 4...

Default New National TV deals

That is the expectation after the new TV deal.

The NBA’s national TV contracts expire after the 2024-25 season, and the league is reportedly angling for far more money from its broadcast partners. In March 2021, Jabari Young reported for CNBC that the league would “seek a $75 billion rights package, up from its current $24 billion deal, which pays $2.6 billion per year.”

Herro is absolutely not in this tier. Well this is like 3-4 tiers, really. He’s like in the FVV/Maxey range which is clearly below the rest of this list

It's possible, because there are fewer NBA players than in any other major sport, so the financial pie gets spread amongst fewer players.

Somewhere between 1200-1500 players appear on a MLB roster each season.
Somewhere around 2000 players appear on a NFL roster each season.

But the NBA has only 450 players, and about a third of those are on vet minimum or two-way deals. So the money does get concentrated among a much smaller number of players than in other major sports.
