Gold is gold. FOTL parallels are great, but don't have the legacy. Black/gold usually gets a premium over gold, but it would be interesting to see simultaneous sales of a player like Luka. Not sure black/gold would win out.

There are 15 "base" Luka RC from '18/19 Chronicles that were available in blasters/hangers. So with 699 cards he's a little over 2% of the checklist.

I haven't ripped any hangers but I tore threw a LOT of blasters and can't remember a single one that didn't have at least one base Luka. I can definitely remember several that had 3 or 4. I know that's anecdotal but if you're hunting Luka Id say through experience that confidence can be pretty high with blasters.

You speak fact. I went through a lot of blasters and a Luka was guaranteed, multiples 90% of the time.

Luka is not guaranteed in any format. Odds are high because he’s in all the sets. But you can certainly have even an entire fat pack box with zero Luka in it.

Yea I realize that.. I’ve just never pulled my own and it would be nice to pull at least one without. Breaking the bank on a prizm box.

The added bonus for Chronicles is you can pull the Obsidian Preview as well. I was fortunate enough to pull 3 myself, all from retail format.

I would splurge and buy a fat pack box. Loose hangers and blasters scare me when it comes to damaged cards. Nothing worse than hitting a Luka with a bent corner.

Im looking forward to the game tonight. We'll probably only see Luka play half the game or so. I think they'll be mainly trying to figure out the 2nd unit and let the younger guys get have a chance to play which should be fun also. Im really interested to see Josh Green and Tryell Terry play. And Powell back in action. I know Terry has been working really hard and put on about 20 lbs.

Well hopefully he plays a little. They've got some very hard games to start the season and are going to need to get in game shape pretty fast and used to their new lineup. We'll see. Preseason games are usually pretty boring but i'll take anything at this point.

This is definitely true. I pulled 4, got lucky since I pulled zero silvers or holos. I sold one and the other 3 are now PSA 10’s in my collection. The previews are around 1:36 packs, the toughest of the premium stock pulls.

At this point I recommend you purchase PSA slabbed Chronicles base cards; don’t go after retail now. Plus grading takes time - I calculate approx 20% of additional cost.

I absolutely agree with this 100% FWIW. Makes a lot more sense than trying to accumulate 9 and 10 quality cards through ripping at this point.

But maybe treat yourself to a box or two if you just gotta have the occasional thrill of the rip like I do Another great thing about 18-19 Chronicles is that it's loaded with other RC with a large collector base besides our boy.

This is definitely true, especially if card you want is hobby only. The only raw cards of Luka I would risk buying as investment is the chrome versions from Chronicles (crusade and Phoenix specifically)

Yep. Love the blue parallels for Luka. But the only thing I want more than a gold is a 1/1.

Man, I had so much fun ripping Chronicles. They were always available at Meijer, Target, Walmart, even up to late December last year. I need a time machine.

I prefer he doesn't play at all tonight. If he plays 10 minutes and does his thing then any last second "deals" are done. Surprisingly I still think there is still some good value out there
