My local broadcast station is with the Giants and I must say, those announcers are awful. I pretty much grew up with them so I figured that's just how it was, but after watching a few Angels broadcasts, I realized how much better they are.

When I saw #41 they were right on top of the broadcast and before my brain could even comprehend what was going on they were already saying it. Part of me thinks they are on a 5 second delay for the audio.

It's a very different energy. Kuiper is more resembling of the Vin Scully-like soothing story telling vibe. Angels are more from an enthusiastic ball player's angle. Randazzo is new and younger but has good energy. Gubie is great because he allows you to get into the mind of the pitcher. He's also very smart and enthusiastic/reserved at the right moments. It's really old school versus new school.

I've got my whole Ohtani RC variation set for sale at PWCC ( I know I know PWCC, but they were vaulted there already and it was easy).

I've done the same thing recently. It's hard to sit on stuff, at the current prices, when I consider what I paid for them several years ago.

I say this in genuine belief as a collector and also using common sense. If Ohtani continues this trajectory with a few more 9+ WAR seasons, he is going to take the baseball hobby somewhere it's never been. Brady and Jordan did it for their sports by becoming true modern icons. I can't speak to one's personal financial situation, but it's very likely to occur.

One of the things that drew me into Shohei was a New York Times article that someone posted here, that had a picture of a high school assignment in which Shohei wrote down what his goals were and that qualities of a human being that he would need to get there.

That picture (and the translation) gave me the risk confidence to collect and acquire more than I was prepared for at the time.

After yesterday's unfortunate news about Wander, I'm happy to say I'm still acquiring.

Sho is quite simply a long term hold.

Great looking cards! Selling when there is FOMO is a very good strategy.

I'm HOLD for now. Nothing wrong with making a profit good luck let me know how PWCC

does for you, they always paid on time a couple years ago, I may use them again next year.

I thought that card looked familiar.

That was a copy I graded at the 2021 Natty!

2018 Bowman Chrome Blue Auto in a PSA 10 (Batting) just sold for under 30K. About 25% less than the previous 2 sales, and a current one is at 29K with 11 days left. I attempted to buy but ebay hit me with the "please call us" and it was gone by the time my buying restriction was lifted.

We've definitely settled down into a nice little pocket price-wise over the last few weeks, vs the weeks before being the eyebrow raising, hair on fire, OMG can't believe stuff is getting so expensive type of energy. While I enjoy the runs up as a collector holding some decent stuff, after awhile it gets stressful knowing what Sho has to do on the field to keep pricing going in that direction. It's like I'm getting .001% of the pressure he is under when the spotlight burns the brightest, when he is on one of those incredible runs that leave people so dumbfounded.

Backing and filling is just fine for me for awhile, everyone can take a breath and reassess cards to target and not feel the pressure of selling at new, higher prices. Remember Diamond Hands in the NFT and Crypto Space? Every time pricing hits new highs we learn which collectors have the "weaker hands", meaning those that decided to sell into the new highs. I've sold a lot of nice RC base and lower end RC parallels and RC Inserts into some of those runs (mostly PSA subs that I planned on liquidating). As prices have continued to rise I've felt both a little frustration that I let so much of that go cheap relative to current pricing though I still did very well on it, as well as appreciation that I've held on to so much nice stuff through the price appreciation which strengthens my resolve to keep holding.

Fun stuff, go Sho!

2019 TC stuff is nuts. 170 for a PSA 10 base refractor.

100% agree that the batsh@t price increases have levelled and it's finally a good groove to consider buying again. In my historical receipts, I see both $400 raw BCA purchases and also $1.5K TC gold PSA 10 sales. Don't look back. Whatever you do, just continue to put the money back in and you'll be fine

I'm still on the fence on whether to look for an auto now or later. I feel like off season might get some good deals, but depending on where Ohtani goes, things could shoot up if he ends up with a true WS contender. I might try to find something, but my price range (1k) is pretty limiting.

I wouldn't mind trying to complete my collection by free agency. I never collect duplicates, think I'm about 6 cards away (They're tough ones) from where I want to be. I would be fine with paying a solid price now and things dip vs I don't get these cards and he goes to the Dodgers and thinks go to the moon.
