Player request for our artists:

Can we get a Bobby Jenks card? Closer from the 2005 world champion white sox. He’s dying from cancer as we speak. AND! He lost his home in the LA fires recently.

Holy Cow. Whoa Nelly.
Another one from 1953 set.

“Get up, get outta here, gone” Now we need a Uecker card. May he rest in peace.

I was pumped to see Reese today. Disappointed in the Winker selection. There are few players that warrant a second (or third) card in the set, and Winker is not one of them. That said, the artwork is fantastic as usual.

Skyline reflection on the helmet is pretty cool.

Pee Wee looks fantastic! This is why I keep collecting this set.

Since we recently got Bonds and have McGwire in the set, we need a Sammy Sosa card at some point. Hoping we see him sooner than later. Would rather have him than Jesse Winker as a Met... what an odd selection.

I love the Reese card, which is classic. Winker is another example (like Lane Thomas) of a player who didn't get a card until he left the Nats.

I think with Sammy being welcomed back into the Cubs org, we aren't long for his inclusion in the Living Set.

No disrespect to Winker, but if you're going to feature a Mets player, why not Soto? I know we'll eventually see it, but it would've been nice to have another player drawn by all three artists.

Did Lane Thomas get a living card that I missed?

No I think he was just saying that Lane is with the Guardians now so it's too late ... but he could be traded back!

Or I guess they could "bend the rules" and issue the nats card after he retires

Rule would not be bent if he NEVER gets a card during his career.

My mistake. For some reason I had a memory of a Lane Thomas Guardians card.

Fantastic art this week, and I really like the backgrounds for both cards.

Really enjoying the lack of maker marks and ad patches, too.

I flipped through getty and couldn't find the exact reference photo on their site but, given the prop glove, this is likely from a photoshoot at CoolToday Park on February 21, 2025 in North Port, Florida.

A quick google search of this spring training park shows a similar structure to the left in this photo:

There's a bunch of random signings that happen all over the place. This one was supposed to happen in like January ... then I got nervous once the season started thinking he would be busy. Then I started to get nervous that the return label wouldn't be good if it happened. Then I got it out of the blue today.

So far I've done this with Ozzie Smith and now Skenes. The same guy who ran the Skenes one (Wilder Side of Sports) has a Bill Mazeroski coming up but I'm not sure if I want to go through with it again hahahaha. Maybe we should start a thread somewhere of private signings that you can mail in for players who have prints/cards from living set? Tons of leg work to track them down and I'd feel terrible if someone's stuff got lost and didn't get a refund ... that's the only thing stopping me from broadcasting these TBH. It's great until something goes wrong.

I can only imagine the nerves waiting out the process.

I understand not wanting to lead collectors astray, but I trust all of us are adults that are aware of the inherent risk when mailing something off for a signing, the same as doing so for grading.

I'm also open to a new thread for private signings for Living Set players. I found the Mazeroski you mentioned. Is it common to have to email this particular person to receiving pricing and further details?
