I'm also open to a new thread for private signings for Living Set players. I found the Mazeroski you mentioned. Is it common to have to email this particular person to receiving pricing and further details?
I don't know, I only used him because his Skenes price was right. If you look at his trout signing it is listed so I'm not sure what's up with Maz ...

Does the 50th Yankee added to the set need to be special? 2 away from that mark. Who should it be?

I'm glad Pettitte has been included. I know the Yankees get a lot of press, but in the baseball world it's justified. Their run from the mid-90s through early-00s was impressive.

I'm curious if Topps called an audible for Angel after Suárez hit 4 HRs on Saturday. I can't think of another reason to give him a second card.

Good question.

Looking at the top 24 players by bWAR, I would have to go with DiMaggio. Whitey Ford would be another good choice.

Lou Piniella, but he's shown as a Royal.

Has anyone else noticed that Topps stopped including the Living Set in their emails? Could 2025 be the last year of the set?

Let's say 2025 is the last year... what needs to be added in before 2026 to make this set feel complete? I think it has multiple years left (I hope)

Must have players still needed:
Walter Johnson
Joe DiMaggio
Mike Schmidt
Cy Young
Sandy Koufax
Pete Rose* (Not happening)
Joe Morgan
Jimmie Foxx
Reggie Jackson
Steve Carlton
Whitey Ford
Mel Ott
Harmon Killebrew
Willie McCovey
Hank Greenberg
Paul Molitor
Duke Snider
Phil Niekro

Since Sparky, Earl Weaver and Dusty made cards probably some additional managing greats as well. Let's hope the set continues on, and let's hope for less Eugenio Suarez second team cards, and more new names until it is over.

Jarred, any chance you can squash this rumour before it even becomes one?

It wasn't a rumor...it was a thought...that can turn into a rumor.

Good list...just missing Shawon Dunston.

Gosh - I sincerely wish I could. It's the greatest baseball set ever made and there are so many legendary names that still need to be included.

But the sad reality is that if 2025 is indeed the last year of the set, the artists would be the last to be notified.

I'd say this has the *potential* to be the greatest baseball card set...it has to be well beyond the 900 card mark though...really atleast another 10 years of forging on to claim that honor. Would love to see some of the current players who got RC's to retire and make the HOF while the set churns out new RC's at that point.

Hopefully many more years of Jared and Angel doing great work!

I'd like to see living HOFer's like Bert Blyleven, Jim Rice and Tony LaRussa

I'd love to know Topps strategy on player selection for the living set. Some cards (like Suarez) make very little sense. I think the player selection for April was disappointing overall.

I'd also like to see the Hall of Very Good players distributed a bit more evenly - still hoping for Dan Quisenberry & Bret Saberhagen.

Suarez isn't exactly chop liver. Are there others we all want to see? Sure. I'm ok with 3 Suarez cards compared to having 2 Sogard cards.

Anyone with a retired number should get a card IMO

I certainly didn't mean to stir anything up.

I recently noticed the new cards were not in a Topps email, and it simply got me thinking.

Like the rest of you, I hope this set never ends.

Jared and Angel have done a great job carrying on what Mayumi started, and I'm excited to see what they continue to bring to the set each and every week.

As for which players I would like to see, I think we have a lot of good ideas in this thread.

Less current repeat players would be a good start, even though some are better than others. I would like to see more past award winners, and agree the focus on those players whose numbers have been retired would be cool, too.

All good Jake...sometimes these threads need a kick in the pants...I need some good reading material at work when "I've had it with this %^@".

And the discussion just proves there is so much left in the set to accomplish!
