I doubt I'll get this exactly correct but the 2018 Sapphire set is ~286.

Where is the evidence that Update is more popular than S2? I heard this a few times and it was discussed a few pages back. I still have not seen much showing one is preferred over the other. Just curious because I feel like the odd man out.

There is way more supply of Series 2 than Update. PSA 10 S2 are 20-30% than Update PSA 10 because the pop report is 4x for Update as no one sent in S2s because they've typically been the least desired Ohtani rookie. Which ones wins out is anyone's guess. If the Sapphire stays top dog, that can help push S2

Yep, I do agree with this for base - the complete sets blew up the print run for S2. For parallel comparisons (gold, blue, pink, etc), I think it's a clear tip of the hat to S2 with equal scarcity. This is where I'd put my money if you'd wanted flagship paper.

Ohtani has so many thought provoking scenarios with his RCs.

The parallel situation with Ohtani might also be unique. At least with the paper, it seems like at least a quarter of the Blacks and Indy Days across S2 and Update are concentrated in the hands of 2 or 3 people in this thread who I assume aren't planning to sell(I've got 2 Update Blacks that arent going anywhere). And I think the ones in those collections have more S2 than Update which would make the S2 rarer to come to market? 5 of the Red Refractors are also taken between me and two others I've seen here that don't have an intention to sell.
