This thread is great! I have been looking for other items to sell on eBay to make some money, so I've been giving this a try. I've had pretty good luck so far and I am working on building up my inventory so I can get more views and hopefully more sales.

Here are some items I have sold and the price I paid:

USAF Thunderbirds Polo paid $4.99- United States Air Force Thunderbirds Polo Shirt Men's XL | eBay

Boston Patriots Long Sleeve paid 4.99 - Boston Patriots Reebok NFL Vintage Collection Long Sleeve Size XL Men'S | eBay

Liverpool Jersey paid 1.99 - Liverpool LFC Standard Charter Jersey Size Large | eBay

New Nomar Red Sox T-Shirt paid 2.00 - Nomar Garciaparra Red Sox T Shirt Red Size XL New Majestic Brand | eBay

Brady kids jersey paid 2.99 - Tom Brady New England Patriots 12 Youth Kids Jersey Size M 10 12 Used Reebok | eBay

Pedro red sox tshirt paid 1.99 - Pedro Martinez Boston Red Sox T Shirt 45 Red Size 2XL XXL | eBay

Utah Jazz mesh reversible paid 1.99 - Utah Jazz Reversible Mesh Jersey 45 Mens XL | eBay

Cubs kids jersey paid 1.99 - Chicago Cubs Kids Baseball Nike Jersey Sz 5 Child | eBay

Patriots hoodie paid 4.99 - New England Patriots Equipment NFL Sweatshirt Hoodie Gray Men 039 s Large Reebok | eBay

Some items I may have been able to get more if I waited, but right now I'm more inclined to just take the profits and buy more.

I have more items listed on eBay now. Since I know you don't want too much ebay spam in here, I'll try to post pics in here of those items.

I purchased some items at Savers, but I find their prices are a bit high. I have been visiting Goodwill weekly. There is an outlet in Boston that all clothing is $1.75 and hats at .50. All the items are in bins, so you have to dig and find what you want. Found some pretty good stuff in these bins.

does anyone have any strong feelings on better days or times to go to goodwill or other thrift stores? In my short experience so far, I haven't found one day or time that seems better. I've found less on Saturdays, but I think its due to the fact that more people are out shopping on Saturdays, so unless you are there when a cart is rolled out, everything seems picked over. Thoughts?

I am curious to know if anyone else keeps finding multiples of the same thing? For example, I have found three Nike University of Virginia Lacrosse jerseys in three different thrift shops. All exactly the same style.

Just strikes me as odd to find that many of one specific item.

It all depends on the stores. I don't think there is a universal code or time for putting things out.

I have went on Friday two weeks in a row to my local Goodwill and came away with amazing hauls. Went to two others on Fridays and found nothing

I have one. I have seen the exact same jersey in around 12-15 different stores. A Willis McGahee Ravens Jersey.

Just out of curiosity whats the most views/watchers you've had on an item before it sold or that never sold?

If you uhave multiple stores like goodwill in your town they will often move things from store to store. Also if someone donates say 5 of the exact same time they may send one each to a different. Here all donations are boxed up and taken to a central location and then sent back out to the stores. Those stores will then pack up some things and send them back to the warehouse then back out again. Goodwills often use tags much like loaves of bread the colors tell them how long it has been in the store.

I personally don't really worry much about watchers. There are many reasons a person will put an item on watch without ever having any intention of buying.

I currently have a continuous listing up that had 33 watchers on it.

Picked up an Air Jordan shirt NWT for $3.49 today. Have not seen any in this color on eBay so it'll be interesting to see what it sells for.

On a down note, I've found that I severely underestimated the cost of shipping an Air Jordan sweatshirt I just sold because of the weight and distance. I think I'm going to stay away from sweatshirts from now on.

An update on the Axis & Allies game I purchased for $3. Decided to sell off the parts rather than the entire game, which probably would've gone for $15 given the condition it was in. So far I've made sales of $2.99, $4.99, and $13.53. Still have about $15-$20 in potential parts remaining.

I disagree, if I get more than 4 watchers on an item, it's a guaranteed sale. Might take a while. I've had 10 watchers on my Salt Lake City Olympic Parka, took over six months to sell but ended up with over $100 for it. The watchers, to me, just means that it's a good item at a good price. Sort of a canary in a mine...but in a good way.

I had an auction a few weeks ago that had 19 watchers and ZERO bidders when it ended.

I often put items on my watch list to bookmark the item or the seller or researching something. I have several items up currently that have been up several months and have over a dozen watchers and not even an offer.

The only guaranteed sale is when a buyer hits buy it and pays.

Sweatshirts can be shipped like blue jeans fold them then roll them up tightly and then put them in a padded flat rate shipper.

Have picked up some nice stuff lately, listing most of it now, before I run out of time to ship/deal and just have it in storage. Anybody just in case know any good consignment shops/resale/thrift shops that buy back and give you a good percentage for them selling your items?

Every item that I have had four or more watchers on has eventually sold. Not sure what you're doing wrong.

I'm not making a statement that it will sell that week.

I have sold items with zero watchers. I believe every item will sell eventually, all it takes is one buyer. Actually under the Cassasi search system that ebay uses. The more views and watchers an item gets the more it can damage its search ranking. The search algorithm reads that as meaning there is a problem with the item that is why nobody is buying it.

Should you be concerned with page views & watchers? | eBay

Nice! That's a great looking shirt!

The Goodwill near me had all of their UA stuff priced insanely high ($9.99+)!

Do you guys find you do better with free shipping ? I charge $4 for shipping bit take that in to account when someone sends me an offer. I haven't had a sale in a week so I'm grasping for ideas....lol

Yeah, it's 50/50 at my Goodwill. If it's around 5 bucks or so, I feel comfortable. If it's 7.99 which is typical or 9.99, I shake my head and move on.

In my opinion, if the buyer really wants it, they'll buy it. I like to do free shipping if it's going first class though, and factor in the shipping cost in the price.
