Anyone else surprised to learn that Jason Kendall ranks sixth all-time in games caught?

Two random Sunday Living Set stats:
1. Ichiro is the only player to have only his first name listed on card. 2. Vernon Wells now has honorary distinction of have the lowest print run at 1051. He came oh so close to us having our first sub 1K print run. 3. That's right there can now only be 1051 full sets !!! As the years move along this would be very hard for someone to assemble especially in high grade. |

![]() ![]() By the way, before it's pointed out by the keen collectors here, I've already reached out to Topps to correct the attribution of the artworks this week. While I am flattered that Topps lists me as the artist in the Campbell card description, the Sugano is my actual contribution this week. |

Why does the Tomoyuki Sugano card look like that of a 63 year old manager... the back clearly shows he's only 23 years old?!?!
Nevermind, still not 63, but Topps can't even get the dude's birthday right... he's 35! From his MLB player page ----> Born: 10/11/1989 in Kanagawa, Japan Last edited by epatmythes; 08-20-2025 at 01:59 PM. |

And Kristian Campbell is 41?!?!
Come on Topps/Fanatics, do better! The birthday on the Tomoyuki Sugano is actually Campbell's DOB |

I understand the rookie love, even if I think it goes overboard in this set, but there are so many other deserving rookies.
For example, Nick Kurtz leads all rookie position players in bWAR at 4.1, and Noah Cameron leads all rookie pitchers in bWAR at 3.4, neither of which have been featured yet. Instead, we get the 388th ranked position player rookie with a -0.9 bWAR in 67 games, and a 35-year old rookie on a 1-year deal with 1.5 bWAR (9th among rookie pitchers). I would like to see a little more discernment when it comes to choosing the player subjects for this set. As you pointed out, the artwork continues to be awesome, which I very much appreciate. Topps, get it together and focus on giving us cards of the best rookies if you're going to be so adamant about including so many of them each year.

Good catch on the birthday, height, and weight info for Sugano, too, as you are correct, those are Campbell's bio stats.

In the history of the Pirates, only two pitchers have ever won a Cy Young. One is Doug Drabek in 1990. Before him was Vern Law in 1960 Both would be nice additions to the living set.
Unrelated but I can’t resist; either Tomoyuki Sugano is really 55 years old or Jarred “done him dirty” as the kids say. However not quite to the level of “Zombie Honous Wagner” Last edited by CanadaShane; 08-24-2025 at 10:14 PM. |

Topps just gave me store credit for etopps shutting down.
Can we get some more white sox guys soon? I know Olson Montgomery is likely in 2026, but I’ll take a white sox Fisk |

Fisk as a White Sox would be great. He did play more years in Chicago after all. I think I would prefer Nellie Fox or Shoeless Joe first.

I agree. This is the first manager selection I don't like. He definitely should have been featured as a player with the Dodgers.

Very happy to see Gil Hodges. While he certainly could have been featured as a player I see the logic in having him featured as a manager. Afterall, he did lead the 1969 Miracle Mets to a world series title. I have no complaints with this selection at all. Very happy to have him as either a player or manager. It's all good and happy to have another Hall of Famer in the set. Amazing artwork as well.
Nice work by Jarred on Agustín Ramírez as well. The palm trees are a nice added touch. One of Jarred's better recent works in my opinion. |

Hodges was in the ‘53 set as a player / Dodger. My opinion, It’s a miss by Topps.
