Hard to make a direct correlation between Prizm RCs (by far the most well known and popular RC) and general, maybe even obscure, auto RCs.

The best known auto RC is the National Treasures RPA /99. What rate has that one increased by compared to the Blue Ice Prizm /99? It's hard to say because the NT RPAs rarely come up.

There are 3 Blue Ice Prizm RCs available right now and zero National Treasure vertical RPAs even though both cards are /99.

Also hard to make a comparison because while there may not be a ton of people that can drop $60K on a Luka numbered Prizm, there are even less that can drop $200K+ on a Luka RPA.

Are you comparing rc cards to non-rookie auto? I don’t know much about lebron stuff but I’m pretty sure that if mj rc fleer card or Kobe topps chrome rc refractor have an on-card autograph parallel version, they would worth more than the non auto ones.

Yeah not sure when the market actually shifted to non-auto base cards carrying a premium over auto # rcs but seems a bit crazy to me. I think long run the auto stuff will begin to carry a premium again at some point especially if Luka is truly done signing. The auto stuff will be very rare and hard to get because they will be in people's collections

Someone in the sell forum bumped up this post today from two years ago. It got no replies back then. I've never seen a photo of one till now. Wonder how much that'd go for now.

Fair, Jordan and Kobe are bad examples, diff era. I'm comparing clean prizm/TC #'d refractors to other brand's autographed rc's (not counting RPA's). Lebron's Topps Chrome black refractor's are worth way more than a Upper Deck auto'd RC.

Fun to note, the Luka that has seen the biggest percentage growth over the past 365 days isn’t even a rookie card. His Net Marvels Press Proof is the biggest % gainer over the past year beating out the Mosaic Blues and Courtside Rookies (2,3).

However, I’m only debating about Luka rc cards because it’s biggest factor and difference from the other examples is that Luka seems to only sign in his rookie year.

Couldn't agree more, I love my auto collection and don't have any big parallel's or refractors, just one Luka silver. But I kinda get it, people are gonna follow whatever the biggest money prioritizes. If they made Prizm on-card auto with the same design/photo as the non-auto (like Bowman Chrome does), it could shift the market.

There is a raw opulence auto /99 on-card that is ending tonight. Will be interesting to see how this compares to these parallels.

Under $100.

I sold a raw Luka base for $40 from the one FOTL box I opened. I remember it dropping to under $20 shortly after, and just hoping the buyer didn’t return it. Oops.

Don't forget the taxes on ebay that many people have to pay now. I think this is an underrated factor in pricing that buyers tend to forget. If the winning bid on that is $60K, in some places, that's really over $65K after taxes and shipping.

If I am willing to pay $65K for a Blue Ice PSA 10, I'd probably be willing to drop $50K+ on a Blue /100 PSA 10.

And keep in mind, there are actually more Blue Ice PSA 10s (36) compared to Blue (35).
