Sad thing is they will need more than 5 runs to win tonight.

What bothers me is I see games like last nights and think what could’ve been. Hopefully this team will resemble the finish the 2016 Yankees had at least it was entertaining.

Man, they were absolutely crushed with injuries this year; let's not forget that. Let's get Rizzo healthy, Gleyber, Volpe, DJ at 3rd, Wells, Dominguez, Judge, Stanton DH, and a new leftfielder. That is one helluva lineup.

Then we have Cole, Rodon, Cortes, Schmidt, and King as a solid rotation, with maybe Sevi mixed back in, plus this Thorpe kid coming on strong. And what about Montas?

We need a BIG TIME closer and leftfielder, and on paper that looks like a team I'd watch again in 2024.

I like this team again.

Let’s not get ahead of ourselves though. Still lots of changes need to be made for transforming this team from a hard luck team sabotaged with injuries to a division winner. If management makes the right moves it could be one bad year and then a nice run. If they make the wrong moves it could be the start of a few losing record seasons. Don’t take Gleyber missing from last night’s lineup lightly either as I think they are going to see how they fare with a Gleyber free lineup.

I like Gleyber. Consider this: he is now the same age as Judge in his second season. Maybe all he needs is a tattoo on the back of his throwing hand of Robinson Cano with a line through it.

The problem is we all well most of us like Gleyber we just get tired of the brain lapses.

Out of Volpe, Dominguez and Wells the only one I really have no cards of is Wells at least he should be the cheapest of the 3 to pick up.

Severino has thrown 60 pitches to the first eight batters.

Can’t put anybody away, 13 pitch at bats resulting in walks 10 pitch at bats resulting in hits and the home run. They can’t keep him on their staff for next year. Over 60 pitches thrown on 8 batters looks like the bullpen will be in early.

Surprised it is 2-2 after 2 innings. At least Severino can field his position.

Severino is not pitching bad but he is not getting any quick outs other than the double play. Ahead in the count on every batter but can’t put anybody away. I would say try pitching to contact but we know how that will work out. Decent 3rd inning.

Maybe if Lemahieu could get a hit with runners in scoring position it would be a little easier.
