I have personally gone with a hybrid of #2 and #3. I have the big ones, minus the champ ticket, and most of the very common/inexpensive ones. I am missing many of the intermediate ones.

I currently am at 20 rookies. making the slow slog to all 43 (or is it 44?)

I am liking this down market though. more bradys for me!

I've been thinking a little differently.

I have about 15-20 unopened 2000 football boxes and 6 of Brady's "less popular" rookies: Metal/base UD/encore/ultra/bowman/crowne.

I was thinking of selling all of the above and getting the best graded Brady card with the proceeds.

That is a good dilemma to have! I am not safe around that much unopened and I would have to sell. I have sold some other side PC's to put into Brady rookies over the years. It is hard at first, but was worth it to me.

Told daveyc1 I'd post my 2000 unopened today. A few additions and a few subtractions since I last posted. I'm always on the hunt for unopened if the price is right. There's more 2000 unopened on eBay now than there's been for several years. Unfortunately, prices are still very steep on the quality releases. Happy hunting Brady collectors!

i bought a Press Pass box about 10 years ago...pulled a complete set and one Brady blue card. probably should have left it closed, but i don't believe in buying wax to keep closed.

they are sports cards, open them up!

Of all the 2000 FB products, Press Pass has been the best for pulling Brady base and auto's.

At least 2 base per box and an auto every three boxes or so.

I cracked two (discounted!) boxes of 2000 Score with Rookie Preview autographs way back then and got #27 Danny Farmer and #39 Shyrone Smith for my autographs (pretty close to #41 Brady on that second one which was just one away from the autograph I really wanted, #40 Marc Bulger, haha.)

I remember I pulled a Reuben Droughns out of my box, good times!

I've never actually busted score hobby. Is there usually one auto per box?

When I got back into cards I started off trying to collect every Brady rookie card. After buying a dozen of them, I realized that a lot of them are plentiful and I can get them anytime (and someday I still plan to). I kept what I had bought and switched over to collecting his refractors in PSA 9 or higher. I think the early ones are overlooked. They are quality cards, look awesome in person, and many have low serial numbers (even lower pop counts in high grade).

This picture is old. I think I still have ~6 to go. It's was hard to set ground rules, but I decided on:

- All Bowman Chrome, Topps Chrome, Topps Pristine, Topps Finest, Prizm Silvers, and Select in PSA 9 or higher
- No color variations unless there is not a normal refractor (ie 2005 Bowman Chrome I chose red, another I grabbed blue)
- No Concourse, or Premier levels for Select. Just the original ones and later Field Level.
- No inserts unless I think they are cool (like the 2002 SuperBowl Goalpost, 2015 Topps Chrome 60th Anniversary and 2022 prizm flashback).

I still need:

2000 Bowman Chrome (this is my grail card, another year of saving)
2008 Topps Chrome TC3
2012 Topps Chrome
2014 Topps Chrome
2013 Select Silver
2015 Select Field Level

Investment wise it probably would make more sense if I just focused on the 02-03 years. But collection wise it is cool to have everything. The later years are pretty cheap ($25-50 range). I think of it as... I could buy a new blaster box to rip or I could instead buy a 2015 Topps finest PSA 9 refractor. I choose the later every time. Once I finish refractors I'll go back to his rookie cards.

Nice stuff. I just sold a 2010 Finest 10, think it only had a pop of 15 or so.

If I were to sell my raw Bowman Brady RC, is $500 the right asking price? Seems on eBay its dancing between $400-600 (roughly).

(This is not a for sale post in disguise, I am NOT looking to sell it online).

Thanks!

Condition is everything currently, I've been picking up raw for around $375-400 locally, obviously anything that's centered and looking like a 9/10 I'll pay a bit more.

It's no 2023 Bowman though

I just saw that a PSA authentic contenders rookie sold on the bay for $12.6k. pretty strong price for the hobby right now. it looked pretty narrow side to side to me.

that's actually depressing. that's a card that should be roughly in the $20K range, not $12K.

It doesn't even have a grade, that eliminates a ton of people who would have interest in it, not depressing at all. I'd like a Brady Contenders, but I wouldn't pay $12k for "Authentic".

authentic in the Brady Contenders cards literally means the card is "trimmed or miscut" doesn't it? it falls under that label?

I don't have time to read through the past year of pages...how is the overall market for Brady RCs been trending the past year? What percentage up or down?

Altered or min-size also. Authentic is a very gray area with PSA.

I don't know percentages, but pretty much everything is down across the board, some good bargains out there.

Unfortunately, unopened hasn't really dropped much
