Question for dealers out there. I’m thinking about trying to sell my PSA 10 US175 this weekend at a show to a dealer. Based on recent sales what a fair price for me to ask for from a dealer, $7200?

If anyone offers you anything above $6000 cash I would accept. No chance of returns & no risk to me is worth the roughly 15% hit

2nd time I've seen that comparison made in this thread. With P2020, the "true" collector base settled down to around 2000-4000. How many people do you think would like to own a US175...what's the "true" collector base for the Trout rookie? I'd guess it's a LOT more than 4000 people. I don't collect him, I own zero high end Trouts. If US175 dropped to less than $1000, I'd buy one. Partly as an investment, partly because I collect baseball cards and it's one of the most import baseball cards of our generation.

Yeah, and your math doesn't even account for the people who have several copies. There are FAR more people who would want one than currently available in the market. The number than can afford one at current prices is a whole different story.

I’m just talking about dealers. They don’t carry that kind of cash? Seems like not having at least 10k in cash makes you miss out on some deals.

Well of course, but my thinking ("I'd buy at $1000") is the reason it's likely to never drop THAT much. At every level of drop ($3k, $2k, $1.5k, etc), you'd have a group of people that would come in and start buying, and the lower it goes, the group of buyers is likely to be larger than the last group. My level just happens to be $1k (i.e. I'm prob never going to own one lol).

Contrast that with P2020, where there's not this huge "legit" collector base of people that swooped in and started buying when the cards were tanking.

Strange thread lately. Here it's...

1. It's like P2020!
2. Winning bidder only had a feedback of 1!
3. It's market manipulation!
4. Concerns over chargebacks. (Willing to take nearly 30% off realized ebay prices at a show.)

In the meantime, crazy prices are going on with Tiger, MJ, Lebron, Jeter, Griffey, Thomas, Maddux, Soto, on and on. Other Trouts are rising as well, which adds to the validity of the US175. Why are people in this thread questioning the validity of price increases for the greatest player playing the game of bb right now but the other threads don't have the same skepticism/insecurity/paranoia? If all these other players are going nuts, Trout should be too. Why is it a strong market with all the other players but here in the Trout thread it's those other silly "reasons" and "comments" posted above?

I'm entertaining the possibility of selling my PSA 10 US175 in person for cash not because I'm concerned about chargebacks necessarily but because I'm trying to get/keep the most money in my pocket and I'm not willing to take 30% ebay sale prices. If I can't get what I consider a fair deal I'll walk. I'm thinking if ebay sales are about $7500 I think I should be able to get about $7000 from a dealer. The dealer stands to make a pretty easy $500 for not putting in a whole lot of effort and very low risk. Maybe I'm dreaming but I'll see how it goes on Saturday.

Great plan! I was talking about the idea of taking $5500 for a $7500 card.

Good luck!!!

You see good things here about MySlabs--the seller fees are a lot lower.

1% and no returns is a great price compared to FEEBAY.

Gotcha, thanks. Was hoping to use one of the faster services but I guess it’s only one option when it comes to crossovers.

No, you misunderstand. It's a different submission type, but there are still the same levels of service options. You can pick whatever speed you'd like, they're just submitted separately from your grading cards.
