A PSA Authentic auto 10 Contenders rookie just finished at 15K on ebay. very strong price. the last one I saw went for 12.6K in December.

I wonder if it is a once off or the beginning of the Brady market increasing?

Likely a one off, unless you see a bunch of other Brady increasing. I think people might realize there's a CHANCE that Brady may have one of the shortest tenures of GOAT of a sport. I think there will always be a market for Brady, but everyone who was buying him up first retirement was seeing him as undisputed GOAT for all time, Gretzky-type thing. That may not end up being the case. Again, I'm not saying it definitely happens, and even if it does it doesn't make his cards worthless, it's just something I think about when I look at the football card market.

Nobody is even close to Brady in the GOAT debate. Who's this mythical creature that is going to all of a sudden unseat him?

I am sure he is talking about Mahomes. And yes, he is a LONG way off from the GOAT

Media usually wants active players to be in the conversation as GOAT to give the talking heads something to talk about. Then, when people hear something over and over and over and over again, they begin to believe it. it becomes the truth to them.

Except when it became Brady, it was, wait a minute, what about Jerry Rice or Brown, Brady is not as athletic as them lol. When the Bucs beat KC in the Super Bowl, the literal headline on ESPN after the game was "Goat Status Put On Hold" for Mahomes.

This is all very true. For some reason, Mahomes is the golden boy of the media. with SB win #3, he is about to become the most hated player in football by the fans at large though. Chiefs hatred has already become a thing. win too much and you go from being a great "story" to hated. look at how Brady was viewed in 2001 to how he was viewed 20 years later. Cinderella story to Darth Vader.

There is a 2000 Bowman Chrome refractor in PSA 2 on EBay right now. the owner is calling it the "gator refractor" it is in, unique condition...

i don't remember it coming up here but may have missed it. does anyone know the story behind it? could it be water damage? carried around in some kids pocket?

interesting for sure.

Came in here to see how Brady's rookie cards are doing as I haven't checked lately. Looks like just a bunch of Mahomes talk. That dude is living rent free here.

Not at all. Just delusional Kermit fans making stupid comments. Brady owns Kermit that narrative will never change! An old 44 year old QB whipped a prime Kermit! He does have a chance at 2nd all-time if he can get to 5.

Eli Manning owns the GOAT twice as hard as Brady will ever own Mahomes.

Deal with it.

Not true Brady beat the crap out of Mahomes. One possession game in both of the Giant losses. Brady takes the lead and Bill coughs it up at the end. Kermit could just as easily be 0-4 instead of 3-1 he's that close to Jim Kelly.

You do realize Brandy's first 5 wins were one score games, right? Using your logic he's just as close to being 0-8 as Kermit is to 0-4.

I probably shouldn't have used the word "logic" when responding to one of your posts.

close game or blowout, it doesn't matter. they are all Super Bowl wins.

the only difference is in games like 28-3. That one was historic and stands apart from the rest.

The only Brady SB win or loss that wasn't a nail-biter was the last one. I don't consider any of Mahomes close victories as anything other than wins. at the end of the day it doesn't matter if a player wins a SB by 1 point or 30, they still won.

the only games that are elevated to me are the great comeback wins.

Yes, this is the only thread on the entire internet where people compare Mahomes and Brady. Yup. The only one. No one else in all of sports media thought of making that comparison but Brady RC holders.

Weak. Brady beat Mahomes at the highest level playoff game they were eligible to play in against each other twice.

Brady owning Mahomes is as weak or weaker than Eli owning Brady. They're both dumb arguments that removes any context or the fact that each quarterback faced a defense that the other quarterback didn't face.

When the discourse is with unreasonable people, it doesn't pay to have reasonable discussion. You and I can have a rational conversation. For others in this thread their entire net (and self) worth is tied to a single EX-Mint investment. It's in their misguided interest to chase the Mahomes car and bark at pedestrians.

Honestly, this thread has pretty much run its course with Brady retired. Don’t expect to find any good discussion about anything in here anymore.

Probably goes for most threads on BO if we're being honest, but yes, even more so with this one.

Exactly. Even the comebacks have so many variables that they're great, but so many things have to fall perfectly that it's not just a qb driven comeback. I just like poking the bear when people are illogical, no matter the subject (jordan, brady, Mahomes, lebron, ruth, etc.)

there are more retired players whose cards are collected and talked about than there are active ones. by far.
