What about his 2017 bowman chrome rc auto? They are at about $300
Any idea as to what can happen value wise to it?
Seems very short printed falling at about 1 auto per 7 cases.. very though to pull
Yet they are only $300?

Do people not realize they are very SP?

What is out now is his Bowman, with Chrome RC Auto

His Bowman Chrome RC Auto will be out later this year

Does anyone know why some Heritage autos on eBay have a Topps sticker on them in a topaloader? I purchased mine without one but was wondering where these came from? Adds a new wrinkle to the debate in my opinion...is it more valuable to keep it sealed with the Topps sticker or get it graded?

This is all of course very personal hair splitting among us Judge collectors; to me the top card is the Heritage Red, followed closely by the Heritage Blue and the FFA, which I love the same.

Shocking as it sounds, I then go with the 2017 Bowman (Chrome Auto) very very close to those others, and only then the 2013 Bowman Auto. I respect the latter as his first big issue, yet the other cards just pop for me.

The Heritage and the FFA are just such damn good looking baseball cards. They cover the classic portrait tradition and the action shot.

But ultimately I like collecting them all. As another member said so well above, the alignment of planets happening with Judge— the name, the stage, the humble, affable demeanor, the star quality, the performance— it all combines in a way where the sum is far, far greater than the parts.

Now, as an avid Mickey Mantle collector, I am obviously in NO WAY likening their performances or careers here, as Judge is just embarking on his career— yet in terms of how the name, tape measure power, physical star quality, and "ripeness," if we will, of the stage itself are all aligning perfectly for an athlete, there is certainly an interesting congruence there.

So I would not be surprised— of course assuming he sustains a great career— if a legion of kids grows up viewing his Heritage Auto as their version of the 52 Topps Mantle.

The fun will be in watching the journey unfold, and seeing if the young man can keep up the great work.

* As far as the question above for the Heritage Autos, I would def prefer to spend on a graded one. I'm always concerned that in hand a raw card will show a ding that I couldn't detect in the scan.

The cards you have came from this years release of Bowman which has paper and chrome cards in it, even though it is from Bowman it is still a Bowman Chrome card and will be his first Bowman Chrome RC card with a RC logo and more valuable than the one to be released from the product Bowman Chrome that comes out in the fall which only has chrome cards in the product.

There are three products each year that are all Bowman and all have Bowman Chrome cards and autos.

Prospect autos should only be in one release. Sometimes they are in others too if Topps deems the auto a valuable edition and that the release needs it. The subsequent autos should not have the 1st Bowman card designation.

Rookie autos are different as any set released in his rookie card year (not always his rookie season) can carry the RC designation.

All 3 of the releases below can (probably will) have the Judge RC auto. Bellinger may be in Chrome and/or Draft.

If Judge has a Chrome RC auto in all three, they will probably have different pictures. They also may have different rarities. Bowman is a rare auto - I think I hit 5 or 6 in 50 cases. Bowman Chrome might be even more rare with say just color of gold or better. Draft could be hit once in 20+ cases... However, the first auto from Bowman will be the chrome RC auto to get. (Not that you'd be mad with the others.)

Bowman is the first release of the year. It comes out around April/May. It is generally highlighted by 2 of the top draft picks from the previous year.

Bowman Chrome comes out around August (9/6 this year). This is generally the red-headed step-child of Bowman but some years it can be amazing. 2014 has the 2013 Bryant color autos, 2015 has Bellinger & Gleyber (cubs) prospect autos, 2016 has a bunch of decent hits and once a couple get hot the product will go up.

Bowman Draft comes out around Thanksgiving (12/6 this year) and is generally the most anticipated release all year. It includes almost every 1st round draft pick from the years draft and is the first chance at these players in the uniform they were drafted. Topps holds back a big name or two for next year's Bowman.

For rookie cards and rookie card autos, Topps Chrome and Heritage are also extremely popular. Heritage variations and Heritage Chrome are often the best RC to get of any player.

Usually the most valuable card will be the first Bowman prospect auto. For Judge that is 2013 Bowman Draft. For Bellinger, that is 2015 Bowman Chrome. Houdini is right except for the fact that a player has only ONE bowman chrome RC logo auto. So Judge will not have a chrome auto in bowman chrome since it was already in bowman. A player can have multiple bowman chrome prospect auto's, but only one RC logo auto. Hope everyone understands here.
