Again it’s one game. Is the series one game decides all now?

Most sought after my speculators maybe. Long term his #@#@#@#@ won't ever touch Curry, MJ, Lebron, Kobe, Duncan, etc until he does something.

Same thing happens when OPEC says they are going to dial back production or a war starts in the middle east. Speculators gobble up oil, the price spikes, and then there is a mass sell off when the bubble pops. Giannis was MVP frontrunner, best team in the NBA, people gooble up his cards, if he gets bounced round two there will be a mass sell off. Absolute zero reason for his cards to command anywhere near Bron or Curry at the current moment in time, certainly if he doesnt go deep this year.

Just admit it, hope it was a learning experience and realize that if he takes care of business the rest of the series like he's capable of that it's not gonna matter than he had an ugly Game 1.

Not time yet to panic and bury your head in the sand because he had 1 bad game against a good team.
Totally agree. Let's just say he put up James Harden type numbers today. He was that bad.

I see what you did there, but no, these weren't James Harden numbers...

22/8 and 2 on 33% with 1 block and a game worst plus/minus of -24 is a game that not many star players would be proud of, and it's not a stat line Harden typically puts up.

But look, we all remember that Game 1 of round 2 of the play-offs when Michael Jordan shot 8-22 for only 19 points and 8 turnovers, right?

No, we don't, because it was one game in a long career.

If this series ends and Giannis is still shooting under 35% and has the worst +/- of anyone in the series, then let's pour it on him.

Until then I'll give him the benefit of the doubt that he'll be back pouring in on next game.

If it didn't sell at the price you wanted when he was absolutely en fuego, not sure raising the price will help?

Giannis will be fine. Even if Boston wins the series, his prices will take a small hit and then will (slowly) climb back to where they were. It might take a time though.

FWIW LeBron at 25 had 2 MVPs, 1 Finals appearance, 1 ECF appearance and 3 2nd round appearances. Giannis might be just a step behind after 2020.

I think what it really boils down to is where else is investor money gonna go?

-No Zion [yet]
-AD took a big personality hit this year and his future is cloudy at best
-RW just took another quick playoff exit and isn't getting any younger
-PG kinda in the same boat
-Embiid and Simmons both steal each other's thunder and also each has their warts [injuries for Embiid, shooting/scoring for Simmons]
-Luka and Trae seem like solid investments but neither is gonna be the alpha monster in the way that Giannis is [2-way player with big dunk highlights]

So that kinda leaves a lot of question-marks and the blue chip guys [Lebron/Curry/Harden etc], and leaves Giannis on a bit of an island from an investor standpoint. So count me in the camp that sees a short-term blip if they lose bad to Boston, but come late summer / early fall the hype will rebound.

I’ve been saying for about two years that the league is waiting for whoever is “next”. LeBron, Curry, Durant still on top now, but there’s a decent gap in age between them and any other generational talents.

Right now Giannis is the leader in the clubhouse. Still needs to do a lot more before he obtains the title of top dog, but he’s on the right track moreso than anyone else at this point.
