The package for Soto is expected to include King and Thorpe, as well as “at least two” other players, per MLB.com’s Jon Morosi, who adds that a deal is indeed close to being finalized.

Verdugo's .337 career OBP, which has dipped the last two seasons, paired with Soto's .421 OBP are just as important to the rebuild of this lineup as the left handed bats we desperately needed.

The balance was much needed when surrounded by Judge, Torres, DJ, Volpe and so on.

Also, Verdugo struck out less than 100 times each of the last three seasons (his only 3 with a full season of PAs). That's a welcome change to the Yankee lineup too

Yep I did some deep digging. And this is a solid pickup. He'll get a power boost at Yankee stadium too.

Obviously we need Soto too and I don't give a damn what we give up. I'm tired of hugging prospects.

no one that seems like a big loss to me
