Seriously though, shifting some Wemby investment funds into Stephon Castle might be a smart move if you want to stay in the Spurs family.

A Bowman U Chrome insert super auto of Castle sold for $4k in recent days, which seems astronomic being it's an insert card of him in his UConn jersey.

“Wembanyama had already taken 403 3-pointers and blocked 176 shots this season. No player in NBA history has ever finished a season with those numbers, and Wembanyama did it before the All-Star break.“ ~ ESPN

He's taken a lot of 3 pointers. He'll be back.

There will certainly be more ball available for Castle now and the rest of the spurs.

Certainly, an intelligent poster such as yourself would know there are currently six different threads focused on women’s basketball on the front page.

Since when is taking threes a feat worth mentioning?

And Nesmith. And probably Zion.

FWIW, it only takes a couple committed collectors to bump threads up.

Question though, what happened when Ja did his stuff. Was that a buying opportunity?

Hoping this is just a blip for Wemby

For Zion, yes, the possibility of him being the NBA's next all time great is gone. Maybe it was never even there to begin with, but we all just bought in

While it may be Wemby only misses the rest of this season and returns next year and ends up playing a full, 20-year career, yet another reminder that "investing" in retired GOAT HOF'ers (MJ, Kobe, even toss LeBron in there) may be boring, but they'll never suffer huge negative value swings like young prospects/players often do. Well, unless they pull a Wander Franco.

I'm guessing some folks are currently up on Ant Edwards if they bought the right cards.

Paolo was looking good until this season.

Before that you probably have to go back to Kyrie and Anthony Davis to find a a guy who if you bought in on right away you are currently up. Of course a lot of that is because of where the market is compared to that time, so you still would have been much better off just buying LeBron, Kobe, or MJ.

Going into this season the main concern with Wemby was that his prices were already so high the question became "what can he do to make his prices go from already very high to even higher?"

Now that we're in-season we've seen his prices dip from the initial hype cycle and this injury will probably lower things further.

However, this season he's still played great and just made his first all-star game. If people are willing to sell off right now it's probably a great time to buy, his prices will actually have somewhere to rebound to.

I will go to my grave, as a prospector, forever haunted by this truth.

For him, it's going to be all about health.....when he plays, he's terrific....but not too many players his height have managed to stay consistently healthy.

You can find a lot of guys later in the draft that are up big.

The #1 slot though has been tough because of such high hype out the gate.

So the spurs and Mavs both make trades to become competitive and they both get whacked with bad news soon after their trades.

This is also a shitty era to prospect.

I’m referencing his career - not just this season
