They're all veterans. Soto is the youngest, guess he benches him lol.

Yes, but some of them are not past their prime.

You realize they could easily afford both, right? If they weren't complete cheapskates, I mean.

One trade away for either Cease or Burnes from being the landslide favorites to win it all. It’s quite possible Rodon reverts back to semi ace performance next year and they end up with the best staff in the league w those two up front and stro/Schmidt beating up on the lower rotation bums they face. Not a Yankee fan but if I were I’d be feeling decent heading into spring. As it sits now barring big injuries I have them as the 2nd best team in the game behind only LA- and it’s close

Id trade Peraza or Cabrera in a Burnes deal. Anything to get it done.

Cease at least has an extra year of control. Burnes is a fa after this year and will want 200m+ at a min. I know the team makes a ton of money, but I doubt they are going to run a 350m+ payroll. Verdugo, gleyber, soto are all fa, rizzo has 17m option or 6 m buyout. Cole can sort of opt out, but yanks can void that by giving him an extra year. What they really need to do is see if Stanton will take a Bonilla deal and start manipulating defferals like the dodgers.

Just don't trade dominguez, I can see him taking Verdugo roster spot next year. Plus we need a few cheaper guys to balance out judge, stanton, hopefully soto etc

The Yankee offense was historically bad last year and for some reason everyone wants to talk about the pitching. Yankee pitching was much better then both the Rangers and Diamondbacks las year. Soto will help for sure but there still are question marks all over the place. DJ, Rizzo, Volpe and Stanton all are huge question marks offensively.

Aaron Judge in Center Field full-time? Under 60 games before he's on IR

Quote:
Judge carries his own but doesn’t put together great defensive stats. He’s been more than adequate in right field for years, but he’s preparing to transition to centerfield full-time, according to manager Aaron Boone

So what are we looking like for a lineup? Dj, soto, judge, rizzo, gleyber, stanton, Verdugo, catcher, volpe. That looks way better than last year

Looks like the Yankees are modifying their road jerseys this year.

Yankees making rare changes to iconic road jerseys for 2024 season

https://nypost.com/2024/01/23/sports...r-2024-season/

Quote:
The club is ditching the white piping around the navy blue letters and numbers on its road grays along with the navy blue and white sleeve trim.

The changes would return the Yankees’ road jerseys to look more like they did prior to 1973, when the organization added the white outline around “NEW YORK” and around the numbers on the back.

We all know the real reason is that road jersey sales must be not doing as well lately. Probably doesn't help that they didn't add anyone significant for a few years.

Again, they could have added Ohtani and I'm still not buying an authentic jersey with that stupid swoosh or an advertisers patch.

Oh I'm in the same boat. Zero interest in corporate patches.
