Is this the workaround hack to see grades before they're available? Playing around in the set registry app and tried the 'what if'...

1. Start the master set for the player you're checking. In this case, I went to 'explore' and found the CC Sabathia master set and started the set (w/o any inventory, so I think this is the only way to start the set).
   
2. Go to my active submission in QA2 status and copy the cert#
   
3. In the PSA Registry app, paste in the cert# in the 'what if' and it tells me if that cert would upgrade my set.
   
4. Shows grade 9.000

Item listed in my submission list:


Status of this order is QA2 and card list is still there, so it's not showing me grades yet from the order details page



I tried another card and it showed 11.0...assuming...fairly certain that means it gem'd (just thought I'd mention it)

It showed me a downgrade to the set, but didn't show the grade of the card. It got a PSA-9. I have a few more cards in the submission that are not part of any registry set, so I couldn't check everything. But I did verify a few.

Did they meet all of these criteria?

• in a registry set? (Earlier in this thread someone said player master set, but I'm not sure if it has to be that or just any registry set)
  
• you have started the registry set
  
• card you're looking up isn't in your registry set.

If I search a card that isn't in any registry set, or isn't in the player master set that I've started, I see this:

The cert number _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ does not upgrade any of your sets.

It's also possible it doesn't always work.

I can never quite figure out what the "grade" and "rating" means in the set registry, I went through a tried on a set I'm already buildin and it raises both values if I type in any of the certs that havent actually popped...but all that really tells me is I'm adding a card that I don't have already.

Grade, I think, would be the set grade now that I think about it. For my example, I checked the CC card and had nothing in my set yet, so my set grade goes to 9 and my set rating goes to...whatever.

When I added a card to a set that has nothing in it yet, and grade shows 11.0, that should be a PSA-10 card.

For a few Soto cards...I already had some Soto inventory in a registry set, so "grade" went from 10.321 to 10.338 for the set....so I know the cert I'm checking is an eleven, ie a PSA-10. If it were a PSA-9 or lower, set grade would have dropped.

If set rating goes up and grade goes down, you know its not a PSA-10. Rating goes up when you add a card you don't have, but grade only goes up or stays the same if your card is at/above the set grade.

Hope that makes sense....and hope I got this right.

I just saw a short of a person getting up charged by PSA for On site grading at Burbank. The conversation had always been that this was because of insurance to ship it back. Since they did not have to ship it anywhere and up-charged those cards it tells us that their up-charge theory is bogus, as many knew, but had some legitimacy. In person show grading up charging should not happen. They charge more than normal. Just a money grab at the expense of collectors.

Seems like all of my older orders have stalled out which is crazy due to the fact that most orders sent in after these have already been received back.

Thank you for this. Going to try it out on an order that as been sitting in QA2 for a few days now and my buddy keeps asking me what his cards scored.

Well looks like it is not working for me. For ease, one of my cards in QA2 is a Celebrations Charizard so I added the Charizard Master Set. Then tried the certification number of my card and it just says "does not upgrade any of your sets". Oh well. I will just wait for the grades to show on the order.

Make sure that card is actually in said set. Sometimes variants/different stuff doesn't show up in master sets.

I can confirm the Celebrations Charizard is in that master set.

I just had a tcg bulk order hit assembly and my previous orders didn't work, but had some in this one that did. I noticed that if I tried to add a new set now, it wouldn't work. If I already had the set with cards in it prior to subbing, it worked again.

Edit: I've now found even some sets I had started prior to subbing still aren't working, but some are. Not sure what the rhyme or reason is at this point.

I only tried sports, nothing non-sports in my subs.

I had a few cards that were not in the master set, so those showed the same message. But if you checked, and they're in the set, and you don't have that card in your set already...no idea.

My grades popped today, confirmed what I had seen from the 'what if' in the app, so I've at least validated that it matched. I only checked mine in QA2. Next time I have an order get past 'Grading', I'll be checking this again in hopes of confirming if anything changes during the QA phase.

Good to know, wow yours got to them about a week+ after mine and shipped today. Mine was delivered 1/23 with PSA confirming receipt on 1/26, then it took a few days in Research but flew through Grading and Assembly in a day or two. Its been stuck in QA 1 ever since though, for 6 days and counting. Hoping it’s nearing completion..

Mines just one item too but it’s a signed ticket. First time subbing a ticket but I’d imagine it shouldn’t take too much longer than a card? Especially at the QC stage(s) but either way, hopeful it’ll be this week.

Btw how did your card do? Did you get both the card and auto graded?

Authentic Card, PSA 10 Auto (as expected).

It was a PSA 8 that I cracked to get signed. So not worth the regrade IMO.
