There are NUMEROUS examples out there of pack issued autos being fake, or potentially being fake

Dak Prescott is the most prominent

Then you have the Austin Meadows/Randy Arozerana fiasco by Topps

Lionel Messi's brother is allegedly signing for him

Luka Doncic has tons of discussions

Ronald Acuna has discussions about his recent autos being forged

The truth is, none of these cards or stickers are signed in front of a rep. They are mailed to player, and returned after being completed. It is entirely likely a lot of the autos out there are not legitimate

Frank Gore Jr came out and said his Topps Chrome autos were fake and not his signature, the FGJ signature. So who signed those?

So the point everyone is now trying to make is the auto you’re buying could be fake, certified or not. Guess people are crazy for buying any Lebron, Kobe, Jordan, Brady etc auto. After market or pack issued, could be fake either way lol

Daks auto should have the same value whether he signed it or not lol

It's all good. I wrote a wall of text, but like I said within that - I'm pretty certain the auto is real on that card. That was kind of my point, if that one isn't real when it's a promotion/marketing stunt at worst and actually "from Brady's collection" possibly, then you have to question every single auto.

Beyond this topic, what interests me is seeing the historical data on appreciation of cards. I know there's some apps and sites out there, but I've never seen one that would for example - Track Brady's Bowman Chrome in a PSA 8 from 2000 to 2025 current day OR a Hank Aaron RC 1954 from 1975 to current day. I would love to see that chart.

Out of all of Brady’s autos, from 2000 to now, I’d imagine much less than 1 percent are slabbed from the TB12 collection. Definitely cool, but not really supposed to add more authenticity to something already certified. Obviously there are issues with grading companies, but what’s the alternative? It’s not like there’s ever going to be a video of the player signing the card, numbering it so people can match it, the player sending it to PSA, receiving it etc then selling it

Signed HOF rookie cards was my niche for a long, long while. Also completed the basic Aaron, Berra & Mantle runs Had a couple articles written about the quest, contributed on a few and learned a ton about what NOT to do. As far as tracking values, VCP is most likely your best bet. Both for pack issued & in person copies. For in person copies you just have to look at the “Q” column. Most sales are found there. If you’re looking for comps on Mantles, you’ll have pricing come September via Platinum night. The entire signed run (most in highest grades) will also be on display at the National. Ask for Derek. Shameless plug over. But needless to say, I’ve done my share of due diligence before dropping serious coin on a signed ‘55 Clemente rookie.

I didn't mean exclusively autos, I was talking the base 2000 Brady Bowman Chrome or the normal copy of a Mantle/Aaron/Ted Williams card. Just to see the tracking on the appreciation much like an SP500 index or Gold/Silver, etc. Just to see the data.

But the signed run stuff and signed HoF is cool. I'm sort of doing that as well, I took some pictures of some of my collection earlier so this is on par:

My bad, well VCP has those charts as well. Can even choose your time periods. 1 yr, 5 yr, 6 months, etc.

Promise I’m not a VCP homer, but I just like independent info vs PSA cardladder, etc.

But like pack issued stuff, VCP isn’t 100% either. There are kinks and cards logged falsely by their algorithm.

Card ladder is another paid option to consider. They track values over time .

I am a member of the various Brady Facebook groups. Just recently ebay authentication saved a member from purchasing a fake BC Refractor rookie. He made the purchase and it was denied through authentication. It is an annoying wait, but i do like the extra security

Those make the rounds every so often. I remember seeing one back a year or so ago supposedly signed by a insta-model “Mia” something. It’s funny how many people out there still say “so you’re telling me there’s a chance”

I dont like to victim shame, but this guy should have known better. He has been in the Brady game for awhile now. He was trying to get something for nothing.

I agree. I hope he gets made whole. But the bright side is that I guarantee you he “learned” from touching that hot stove. Which was basically my point about any signed card, pack issued or in person. Nothing is 100%. Claiming otherwise is a complete disservice to future collectors that might not be in the know.
