I really, really love this thread. Penny was always a favorite of mine and it's fun seeing some cards I have but many, many more that I don't (and even more that I have never even seen before).

Congrats on the amazing collection and hope you keep the new pickups comin'!

I appreciate it, thanks.

Also appreciate the username, I still have nearly all wu cd's from 1993-2000, lol. Liquid Swords has always been up there in terms of their best material.

Now we're talking. 36 Chambers is a top 5 all time album for me and I've been to see them live a couple of times. The last time the Wu were playing in my city was on the day I was getting married. I floated the idea of having the wedding party at the show but apparently Bring Da Ruckus isn't first dance material. Anyway sorry to go off topic Penny fans.

Very nice additions - an early lenticular and a cool set with a variety of different background colors for each player.

Thanks steve, I got both in a lot so I was very happy with the deal.

Just in today, I love the 98-99 No Protector Refractors, especially the backs. Look even nicer than the fronts, imo.

Didn't realize the No Protector had Refraction on both sides. Gotta pick this one up soon.

Yea, I like the backs of the No Protectors even more than the fronts. They still go for super cheap, even when they're listed correctly. I bought the Kobe for a great price.

In yest...

Ultrabilities rainbow completed. An interesting thing I learned recently is that there are actually color variations of the All-Star version. The stars can also be mostly red instead of mostly blue.

Yeah, this thread has so many tremendous Penny's its almost comical.

Few comments about the Page 7 shares - How good is anything 96/97 Metal? So good.

And I didn't understand what the Electric Court Gold's were all about until I ripped into some of that product. There is something so fine about that subtle gold shimmer... and some of the subsets are simply stunning!

Agreed on the Electric Court Golds. The base set has quite a bit of excellent photography (with the Penny being a prime example), so the gold holofoil accents on not just the EC logo, but also the UD logo and the player's name are just outstanding. The subsets usually have even more holofoil to light up the card, so they're quite special too.

Thanks rusty. At this point my wantlist is really, really small since the bigger stuff like pmgs, star rubies, and essential credentials will likely remain unattainable.

Yea Steve, the photography is incredible. Love how the gold UD logo looks as well, bit more layered/etched than the EC logo itself.

And just in today, one of my favorite but also most expensive Penny pickups so far - 97-98 Hoops High Voltage 500 Volts. Forgive the multiple shots.

Oh my, maybe the best card in the thread yet!

I threw a hail mary bid for the Penny PMG red that ended on ebay last night. I pretty much knew it would get outbid but I was the highest bidder at one point so got a little nervous I would be on the hook for $6 G's. Anyway it ended at nearly double that.

Thanks man, I took a shot on its condition too since the photo wasn’t great. I’d say it’s a bgs 8 and I’m very content with that.

I saw that end too. It’s what I mean about not chasing parallels in that class, I’d have to sell about a third of my collection just to fund something in that realm. Nutty.

Also from the same lot as the HV500 - 97-98 Topps Generations Refractor. As much as I love the Generations and Rock Stars sets, I never went after this one because I’m not big on the photo. They already used a similar pointing theme on his Rock Stars but that was a much better angle.

You make cards look good, I must say.

That High Voltage is incredible, I've never seen it captured that way. So nice.
